Jet Black Is The Most Popular Interior Color For The 2021 Corvette

Chevy fans who placed an order for the 2021 Corvette Stingray like a simple and straightforward cabin, it seems, as they preferred the rather tame Jet Black interior color over any of the other available upholstery options.

Of the 26,216 examples of the 2021 Corvette Stingray that were built this year, 9,381 were ordered with the Jet Black interior color. Adrenaline Red was the second most popular at 6,607 units, followed by Natural brown leather at 3,266. The least popular “recommended” interior color combo was SKy Cool Gray/Strike Yellow at just 274 units, while only 78 units of the Corvette were built with the “custom” Sky Cool Gray/Jet Black combo.

The two most popular interior upholstery colors, Jet Black and Adrenaline Red, are available on all three trim levels and are also available to order in conjunction with Torch Red, the most popular exterior color. This contributes to their popularity, as the vast majority of customers will be able to order these interior upholstery colors. Some other less popular interior color options, like Morello Red and Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow, are only offered on the range-topping 3LT. That said, most Corvette buyers are happy to load the vehicle up with options, as the 3LT trim was only slightly less popular than the 2LT for the 2021 model year. The 2LT trim accounted for 11,565 vehicles, while the 3LT made up 10,720 vehicles. Only 3,931 units were ordered in the base 1LT trim.

While the 2022 Corvette is available in three new exterior paint colors (Amplify Orange, Caffeine, and Hypersonic Gray) the available interior color options have remained unchanged.

Production of the 2022 Corvette Stingray began at the GM Bowling Green Assembly plant the week of September 6th. Pricing for the 2022 Corvette Coupe in the base 1LT trim level starts at $62,195 including destination and freight charges, while the Convertible starts at $69,695 with DFC.

  1. Bad news, GM braintrust salivating to cancel all other colors…

  2. Shows that vehicle choice and interior color choice is a pure sports – show car. Not a daily driver. Black interiors in the sunbelt are brutal. Make sure you get dark window treatments. Purely a fun car and head turner. Creates coveting and jealously among the have nots, which leads to keying and paint damage.

  3. I’m guessing black with yellow or red stitching must be included in the jet black number for some strange reason? They shouldn’t be, they are both drastically different the jet black.
