Mattel has released details on a new limited-edition 1969 Chevy Camaro SS diecast that will be available to members of its Red Line Club on September 28th.
The RLC Chevy Camaro SS is inspired by a modern-day Pro Touring-style restomod and features a supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 crate engine, lowered suspension, Real Riders lightweight alloy motorsports wheels wrapped in slick tires and a black-painted interior with bronze steering wheel. The chassis has also been painted matte black, while the body wears an eye-catching layer of ‘Spectraflame’ metallic green paint.
Hot Wheels says another stand-out aspect of this limited-run diecast is the flat hood with dual vents. The company has never before used a hood like this on a first-generation Chevy Camaro diecast it has released, which will make this scale model particularly interesting to Hot Wheels enthusiasts and collectors. The Chevy will ship with an RLC card in the package and will also include Hot Wheels’ “Kar Keepers” clamshell case for safe keeping.
“From the beginning of the brand, there’s not much that says ‘Hot Wheels’ like a muscle era Camaro,” the company says of the eye-catching Chevy model. “Just like Hot Wheels, the ’69 Chevrolet Camaro SS has become something today even more exciting than when it started – and we’ve got a brand-new casting for you that elevates the best of both worlds!”
For readers who may be unaware, the Hot Wheels Red Line Club is a members-only group of Hot Wheels enthusiasts that have access to exclusive Hot Wheels items, priority access to sales, and access to a members-only forum on the Hot Wheels website. In order to buy this RLC-exclusive 1969 Chevy Camaro SS diecast model, Hot Wheels fans must pay a $9.99 fee for a one-year Red Line Club membership. The diecast itself costs $25, with order books set to open on Hot Wheels’ website on September 28th, 2021 at 12 p.m. EST/9 a.m. PST.
