The GMC Hummer EV is made to get out and explore, with a host of off-road-ready equipment to conquer the trail. Naturally, anyone heading out into the Great Outdoors will want to bring a little civilization with them. Enter the optional MultiPro Tailgate Audio System by Kicker.
Integrated directly with the GMC Hummer EV MultiPro tailgate, the Kicker audio system includes a pair of four-inch coaxial Kicker speakers pumping out 100 watts of sound wherever you happen to find yourself. The stereo components are located in the inner panel of the MultiPro tailgate, and includes weatherproofing for worry-free listening. The stereo also includes a small amplifier and a weatherproof button panel, the latter of which comes with controls for track selection and volume levels.
The MultiPro Tailgate Audio System offered as an optional extra for the GMC Hummer EV is similar to the system offered with the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado, with the same components and the same installation location in the GMC Sierra’s MultiPro tailgate and Chevy Silverado’s Multi-Flex tailgate. However, unlike the system offered with the Silverado and Sierra, which runs on a separate low-current power supply, the system offered with the GMC Hummer EV will draw power from the Hummer’s Ultium battery pack. While this will drain away some of the available electricity, the system is unlikely to make much of a noticeable difference on the Hummer EV’s massive power reserves, even after several hours of play time.
The GMC Hummer EV’s optional MultiPro Tailgate Audio System by Kicker is tagged with RPO code SAX, and is priced at $749.
Further options on offer include the Sky Panel Storage Set, which is designed to store the GMC Hummer EV’s Modular Sky Panels in the front trunk, or eTrunk, of the new all-electric truck. There’s also an optional Sky Convertible Top that allows customers to manually adjust the roof section for an open-air driving experience.
