Having a spare tire handy is always a smart idea, especially when venturing out onto some off-road trails. Now, General Motors is offering a simple and easy solution with the optional Bed-Mounted Vertical Tire Carrier for the all-new GMC Hummer EV Pickup.
The optional Bed-Mounted Vertical Tire Carrier for the all-new GMC Hummer EV Pickup is tagged with RPO code SEP, and includes a pair of mounting bars that bolt directly into the all-electric off-roader’s bed. Straddling the two bars is a tire carrier that mounts a full-size spare longitudinally in the bed, providing plenty of space in the bed around the tire that can still be utilized to carry whatever else you may need.
Pricing for the optional Bed-Mounted Vertical Tire Carrier comes to $1,995.
Further options offered for the all-new GMC Hummer EV include the Sky Convertible Top, with provides a quick and easy way to convert the all-electric off-roader into an open-air driving experience thanks to a manually operated top section that integrates directly with the vehicle structure. If you prefer less exposure to the elements, the top can fold down just as quickly.
For those customers that would like some tunes on the fly, the GMC Hummer EV also offers the MultiPro Tailgate Audio System By Kicker. This optional extra integrates directly with the configurable tailgate to provide hours of entertainment thanks to a pair of four-inch coaxial speakers blasting out 100 watts of sound.
As GM Authority covered previously, the new GMC Hummer’s Modular Sky Panels can be secured using the optional Sky Panel Storage set, which places the panels in protective cases that stack neatly in the front trunk.
As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV is offered with multiple drivetrain configurations, ranging as high as 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of wheel torque for the top three-motor model. Under the skin is the GM BT1 platform, with GM’s Ultium battery tech and drive tech for motivation. Production will take place at the GM Detroit-Hamtramck facility in Michigan, a.k.a. Factory Zero.
