  1. Who cares. This is Made in Mexico.

    1. Lots of vehicles are made in Mexico:
Ford BroncoSport; RAM P/U(50%); RAM Promaster; Ram Promaster City; Jeep Compass; Jeep Renagade; Fiat500; Toyota Tacoma(2 factories); Honda HRV; Nissan RogueSport; Nissan Kicks; Nissan Sentra; Nissan Versa; Hyundai Accent; KIA Rio; KIA Forte; Mazda3; MazdaCX-30; VW Jetta; VW Golf; VW Taos; Audi Q5; BMW 3 series; Mercedes GLA.

You should buy a Cadillac. Every vehicle they sell in the U.S. is built in the U.S.

      1. With 100% American made components?

        1. Every Cadillac has a very high domestic part content. Add in R&D expenses and domestic content is probably over 100%.

          1. Thanks I did not know that. It would be cool if there was a vehicle 100% made in the us with all components but it’s also cool each Cadillac is at least made here.

          2. Would you happen to remember by any chance the name of a Cadillac sports car they use to make? I could be wrong but I believe it was made in the same plant as the Corvette in Kentucky. I think it might of shared the same platform as the corvette and been priced a bit higher also. I know they stopped making it a while back. Anyways I always liked that car and it was made in the US.

            1. I believe it was the XLR, and was, indeed, built at the Bowling Green plant. I looked at one, and the finish quality and the fit and finish were just amazing. Amazing as in VERY well-done.

              1. Thanks for that you are right that is the name I just looked it up. Do you happen to know why they stopped making it? Was it competing with the corvette to much? I actually saw one brand new before they stopped making them at a Cadillac dealership you are right the finish was amazing. The one I saw was black exterior color but man was it beautiful if only I had the $90k it was I would of bought it lol.

                1. Just one ol’ human grizzly’s guess but, the price was high, and it didn’t have the magic three-pointed star, or the blue roundel.

If one gets up into that price class, it means you are some sort of senior executive, a doctor, lawyer, or some other such that needs bragging rights in the board room, cocktail parties, or at the country club. Flashing a key fob with the wrong trademark is just unheard of, don’t you know!

A VERY long time ago, I went to lunch with my mom and step-dad at some country club they were in. As we walked across the parking lot, a man pulled in in a jet-black Impala SS; one of the bathtub ones from the 90s. It was brand new. Seeing it jerk and kick away from the entryway, it was obviously stick shift and the valet was having a bit of a time with it.

Inside, while we were having our lunch, the next table had four men sitting at it, including Mr. SS. I normally mind my business, but I started eavesdropping when the subject got to cars. This man’s Audi was waiting for parts. The other guy’s Porsche in for some repair or another.

I kept listening, and finally, the voice of the Porsche driver asked “Frank, you make more than any of us! Why not drive a Mercedes!” The reply was priceless! “Mercedes? Please. I… have a CHEVROLET!”

I just about choked! In my mind, I was giving this man a thumbs-up. He had a great car, fast as the dickens, good handling, fun to drive, and service available anywhere.

  3. I’m shopping for a new SUV and the Blazer is on my short list, but only with 3.6. I did the ‘build and price’ and there’s only black interior available. I don’t like black!!

    1. You will take black and you will LIKE it! The focus groups have spoken!

  4. I ordered my 2021 3LT Blazer (wanted Pewter Metallic paint, Panoramic Sunroof and 3.6 with towing package) at the end of March, received it end of May…WE LOVE IT !!

  5. Hardly any new Blazers on the dealer lots here in Massachusetts. The problem with ordering is that by the time the vehicle arrives the rebate is gone, replaced by who knows what.

    Reply
    1. Yeah, we had to play that game as well, it worked out for us pretty well as the rebates in March weren’t as good as the ones in May…
