Order books for the all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition are now open. The automaker started accepting reservations for its “dynamic, modern, and fully electric SUV” on September 18th at 4 p.m EST.
Pricing for the rear-drive Cadillac Lyriq in the U.S starts at $59,990, including destination freight charge, with production set to begin at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee early in 2022.
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq represents the first model year of the upcoming electric crossover utility vehicle (CUV) as well as the brand’s first all-electric vehicle. As such, it introduces a new era in luxury, technology, and electrification. Joining the Lyriq will be four additional electric Cadillac models by 2025, all centered around the GM Ultium battery architecture and Ultium Drive technology.
The new Lyriq is also the first vehicle to flaunt the brand’s next-generation styling, offering signature vertical lighting along with Cadillac’s distinctive “black crystal” grille. The all-electric CUV is slightly larger than the current Cadillac XT5 and features a profile reminiscent of a shooting brake.
Only two wheel types and two exterior colors – Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic – will be offered at launch.
Inside, the Cadillac Lyriq’s interior is clean with a focus on secondary and tertiary design elements, including intricate laser-etched patterns through wood over metal decor.
The Lyriq is also very well-equipped, featuring front massaging seats, a new Surround Vision Recorder, and GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology as standard. A 33-inch-diagonal, curved, advanced LED screen is also standard.
Other highlights include Cadillac’s next-generation Active Noise Cancellation system and an AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system with speakers in the headrest, a new, dual-plane augmented reality-enhanced head-up display, and supervised remote parking.
Notably, interior color options are also limited to just two:
Power in the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq comes from a single, rear-mounted Ultium Drive permanent magnet electric motor producing 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. A 100-kWh GM Ultium lithium-ion battery pack provides an estimated 300 miles of range per charge.
The mid-size battery-electric CUV tips the scales rides on the GM BEV3 platform at 5,610 pounds, which is nearly as heavy as the two-wheel-drive version of the full-size 2021 Cadillac Escalade. This 340 horsepower version of the Cadillac Lyriq will wear a 450E badge, as per Cadillac’s new torque-based naming convention it first introduced back in 2019.

- Update: Cadillac has announced that all initial reservations have been spoken for.
