Production of the 2022 Buick Envision began on July 19th by GM China (SAIC) at the GM Jinqiao plant in Shanghai, China. As such, 2022MY units are either en-route or are just reaching dealer lots, including models finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic.
Notably, changes to the 2022 Buick Envision are relatively minor, consisting of a new wheel option, the addition of sport alloy pedals, new interior accessories, and revised content for the Sport Touring Package. Looks very similar to the all new Marine Metallic paint for the GMC Terrain.
It actually replaces Marine for GMC, Deep Azure for Buick and Pacific Blue for Chevy.
Sad state of affairs when you have to pay extra to get your vehicle painted….
I’ve been to 3 local dealers to see the new Envision and none of them had inventory. They told me that they had no idea when they would get a shipment. I’m going to wait until Christmas to see if the situation improves, but if not, I’ll be forced to look at something else.
I bet if they built this vehicle in the US at one of their underutilized US plants there would not be quite the inventory issue.
If you had any brains? You would buy something else that’s Not made in CHINA.!
The “new blue” is a good start, but I’m still amazed that White Frost Tricoat (which would be extra cost) isn’t being offered as an alternative to Summit (a/k/a “Refrigerator”) White (which isn’t). How did they miss out on that little “profit center?”
It is a very nice color but I wish that they would offer another deeper metallic blue or green. I agree that the Envison should be built in one of GM’s under utilized assembly plants in the US
Anybody that buys this vehicle should be Shot and Pissed on! Along with every dealer that brings them in for stock. Funny how you don’t see Toyota or Volkswagen bringing vehicles here from CHINA. GM is SO Pathetic !!! Is it any wonder their sales volume keeps dropping? #1 in the World a little over ten years ago to #6 ??
Before shooting I suggest you do some research – almost all auto manufactures have some plants in China (or at least the ones you have heard of ) including Ford, Chrysler(now Stellantis), Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, BMW & so on. And speaking of VW they likely have the most plants in China of any “foreign” manufacturer. Now what you may be objecting to is the marketing of GM in daring to bring to the USA one of their China made products . I don’t see this behavior worthy of “shooting or pissing” on customers because they chose to purchase such a product. This purchase is the same as buying any of the other American manufactures product made in China. You probably have several in your home right now! But for some reason not the Buick Envision.
