Refreshed 2022 Chevy Equinox Confirmed For Brazil

General Motors confirmed the arrival of the 2022 Chevy Equinox in Brazil, the largest automotive market in South America, as part of the automaker’s new product offensive in that region. The 2022 Equinox is the latest renewed model in Chevrolet’s utility lineup in the Brazilian market, boasting more standard features to remain one of the most advanced vehicles in its class.

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Equinox is the second of four Chevrolet models scheduled to be launched by GM South America in Brazil by year’s end. As reported two weeks ago, the first one is the updated 2022 Chevy Bolt EV, which is scheduled to arrive over the next month.

“The new Equinox will be launched in the last quarter of the year, and expectations have been high from customers,” said Product Marketing Director at GM South America, Rodrigo Fioco, in a press release. “Chevrolet’s mid-range SUV will arrive even more equipped and with unprecedented personality, in line with a very unique feature of the product: excellent handling,” he added.

In addition to the updated exterior design, with a new front end and styling tweaks to the rear end, one of the new features for the 2022 Chevy Equinox both for Brazil and other global markets is the addition of the RS trim level. Though it has not yet been announced, earlier this year, GM said it would expand the RS range and the first teaser of the crossover shows the RS insignia on the right side of the grille.

The new, sporty looking variant is expected to complement the existing range-topping Premier as well as expanding the variety and competiveness of the 2022 Chevy Equinox in Brazil. The compact crossover stands out for being one of the biggest in its segment, for its high level of technological content and its dynamic handling. According to GM, it’s one of the Chevrolet vehicles with the greatest customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Equinox will be officially launched in Brazil during the fourth quarter of this year, with the objective of strengthening the brand’s lineup of crossovers and SUVs, positioned between the new Tracker and the recently updated TrailBlazer SUV. Notably, the Chevy Equinox is the Bow Tie brand’s best-selling model in the world and has a premium positioning in the Brazilian market.
