A week after confirming the arrival of the new 2022 Chevy Bolt EV in Brazil, General Motors stated the pre-sale period for Chevrolet’s refreshed all-electric vehicle in the Brazilian market. The 2022 Bolt EV will be the first of four upcoming models that the automaker is planning to launch in the South American country.
On August 11th, GM began accepting the first orders for the refreshed 2022 Chevy Bolt EV in Brazil, and the batch of pre-sale units sold out within a few hours. Interested customers can see the electric crossover and order their own unit through a specific page of Chevrolet’s official website. The vehicle will be officially on sale in the country during the month of September.
“The Bolt EV is the best-selling zero-emission electric utility in its category in Brazil, and the new model evolves in the most relevant aspects for the consumer, such as technology, finish and design,” said General Director of Product Engineering of GM South America, Ricardo Fanucchi, in a statement. “All of this takes the product to the next level and is intended to keep Chevrolet at the forefront of electric cars,” he added.
As has been the case since the local introduction of the model last year, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Bolt EV will continue to be offered in Brazil with a unique configuration equivalent to the range-topping Premier trim level. This variant includes an innovative package of technology, safety and comfort elements that make the Bolt EV stand out as one of the most advanced models in its class.
Notably, customers who purchased the first batch of the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV during the pre-sale period will receive a GM-approved 7.4 kVA wallbox charger, allowing the vehicle to boast a range of about 40 kilometers (25 miles) per hour of charging. That charger will also be available as an accessory at 79 Chevrolet dealerships authorized to sell and service electric cars in the country.
The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV will officially go on sale next month in Brazil, where it’s offered in one of four paint colors and a special connectivity package with a free one-year OnStar services subscription. The price of the 2022 Bolt EV in the Brazilian market is 317,000 BRL or about $60,400 USD at the current exchange rate, notably higher than the 270,000 BRL (about $51,430 USD) that the manufacturer was asking for the outgoing model.

I’d love to say “GREAT !”, but if the batch of Bolts that sold out was only 5 or 6 cars, I’d likely say ‘so what’ and move on to the next story.
To bad GM discontinued the Volt maybe modified into a nicer affordable design so all those millions of apartment and condo renters could own a hybrid that doesn’t have to be plugged in like Toyota as we go to electric conversion . G.M. just walked away from millions of sales in Canada and the US after 2030! !
