GM Confirms New 2022 Chevy Bolt EV For Brazil

In July, General Motors announced a preview of the next four Chevrolet model launches scheduled before the end of the year in Brazil, South America’s largest auto market. Now, as GM Authority had anticipated, the automaker has just confirmed the arrival of the new 2022 Chevy Bolt EV as the first of those four launches in the country.

The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV will kick off the Bow Tie brand’s new product offensive in the Brazilian market, where it will strengthen its position as the most innovative model offered by Chevrolet and the best-selling fully electric vehicle in its class. GM stated that the refreshed 2022 Bolt EV will begin arriving in dealerships in Brazil in September, a few months after its launch in North America.

“The new Bolt EV symbolizes Chevrolet’s global technology showcase,” said Marina Willisch, Vice President of Government Relations and Communication of GM South America, in an official press release. “The model will be launched here in Brazil almost simultaneously with the beginning of sales in the United States, which officially started at the turn of this semester,” she added.

After enjoying a healthy sales increase and having taken a leadership position in the zero-emission vehicle category since arriving in Brazil two years ago, the new 2022 Chevy Bolt EV receives major design and technology updates. As such, the first-gen Bolt EV’s mid-cycle upgrade seeks to increase the model’s reach both domestically and across the region.

Unlike the current model, which until recently was only sold in some 26 select stores among more than 500 official Chevrolet dealers in Brazil, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV will be more widely available across 79 stores before the end of the year, or three times as many locations. This, in conjunction of the arrival of the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV at a later date, will allow the brand to reach more local customers.

The new 2022 Chevy Bolt EV will arrive in Brazil during the month of September, when GM South America usually begins rolling out the next model year lineup in that country. The trim levels and specific configurations of the new 2022 Chevy Bolt EV for the Brazilian market have not yet been announced, which will occur during the vehicle’s official launch in the coming weeks.
