Corvette E-Ray Hybrid Tire Sizes Revealed

The upcoming Chevy Corvette E-Ray hybrid sports car will run 275/30R20 tires in front, and 345/25R21 tires in the rear, GM Authority has learned.

Providing the traction will be Michelin’s Pilot Sport All Season 4 compound, which are designed to provide high levels of grip in both the dry and the wet. The Pilot Sport All Season 4 compound is also suitable for winter driving.

What’s more, it’s possible customers will have the option to equip even-stickier Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, which are optimized for ultimate dry traction performance and are suitable for track day driving, delivering long tread life, even under high-performance driving conditions.

For reference, the 2021 Chevy Corvette C8 Stingray is equipped as standard with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 performance run-flat tires, sized at 245/35R19 in front and 305/30R20 in the rear. Adding the popular Z51 Performance Package ups the tire spec to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S high-performance run-flat summer-only rubber, once again sized at 245/35R19 in front and 305/30R20 in the rear.

The meatier 275/30R20 front tires and 345/25R21 rear tires equipped by the Corvette E-Ray indicates that upcoming hybrid sports car will use the same widebody configuration as the upcoming 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06.

Indeed, the upcoming Corvette E-Ray hybrid sports car is going to need the extra grip. Motivation will be sourced from a new powertrain, electrifying the standard 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine currently found in the Chevy Corvette C8 Stingray. In the Stingray, the LT2 is good for 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, while the electrified powertrain in the new Corvette E-Ray is expected to bump up output to around 600 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque, courtesy of four 1.94-kWh batteries and a front-mounted electric drive unit.

With the gasoline engine driving the rear axle and the electrified components driving the front axle, the new Corvette E-Ray will have also all-wheel drive stick to put it all to the pavement.

Look for the new Corvette E-Ray to debut a few months after the Chevy Corvette C8 Z06, the latter of which will be revealed later this year.

  2. So same HP as the Z06 yet heavier with AWD, should be slower. I thought I was hearing the powertrains would be going up incrementally with the different versions. 500 std, 600 Z06, 700 E-ray and then 800-900+ for the ZR1/Bluedevil/Zora or what ever is the top dog is going to be called.

    1. Should be faster off the line with AWD. Need to wait before judging. The E-Ray will be the sweet spot same as the ZO6 for most enthusiasts.

  3. The AWD will even with more weight show better 0-60 times and with no added parasitic power loss from the engine due to the electric front drive it should maintain or even be a bit faster.

I know with the AWD street Rod we built it took 170 hp just to drive the front drive. That will be a big gain here.

  4. You get the pushrod LS , 600 hp, and the all wheel drive boost off the line. Plus you could do the usual LS mods on top of the 600 hp – if the front drive can adapt.

    Sounds great.

  6. Does anyone knows where to preorder ERay with no markup of MRSP in New York?
Can anyone ordered the Stingray C8 advise?
I heard the markup is so crazy for C8.

    Thank you

  7. This article hopefully will be updated as to when and where Z06 owners can purchase the All Season Tire being fitted on some ERay vehicles. If I’m not mistaken the ERay can be factory order equipped with All Seasons so Z06 owners need updated information on availability of these tires for non summer Z06 driving as some of us drive in colder areas and mountain areas.
