The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Chile sales increased dramatically in July, as demand for vehicles in the local market recovered from last year’s weak performance caused by the initial COVID-19 stay-at-home orders. In fact, July represents the fourth consecutive month in which the Chilean auto market has experienced a triple-digit increase, which has helped Chevrolet strengthen its position as the country’s best-selling car brand.

Chevrolet Sail

Last month’s healthy result was bolstered by the solid performance of the Chevrolet Sail sedan, sold as the Chevy Aveo in Mexico. The popular model posted a substantial 953 percent year-over-year increase to 1,506 units, making it the best-selling vehicle in Chile in July.

Chevrolet Groove

In addition, the bowtie benefited from incremental sales of the all-new Chevrolet Groove, which is establishing itself as the brand’s second-most popular model, as well as a notable increase in sales of the N400.
