Vehicle valuation and research company Kelley Blue Book recently published the results of its second-quarter 2021 Luxury Segment Brand Watch, which highlights Cadillac as ranking well among competitors.
According to the Kelley Blue Book study, Cadillac ranked sixth among luxury brands during Q2 of the 2021 calendar year, coming in with 13 percent. That’s a small percentage decrease from Q1, at which time Cadillac had 14-percent quarterly brand consideration.
Cadillac’s sixth-place ranking places it below Tesla, which had 14-percent quarterly brand consideration, and above Acura, which had an 11-percent brand consideration. The top-ranked most considered luxury brand was BMW at 23 percent, followed by Lexus and Audi, both at 19 percent.
Interestingly, the Cadillac CT6 luxury sedan managed to grab the fifth spot in the Top 5 Luxury Cars list for luxury segment consideration. This is particularly noteworthy, as Cadillac discontinued the CT6 for the U.S. market last year, although the sedan is still offered in the Chinese market.
The top five most considered models among luxury shoppers, including crossovers and SUV models, was the Tesla Model 3, BMW 5 Series, Lexus RX, BMW 3 Series, and Buick Enclave. Buick also did decently in the new Kelley Blue Book study, placing eighth among rivals at 10 percent quarterly brand consideration. The eighth-place ranking positions Buick between Acura at 11 percent and above Lincoln at 10 percent. The Buick Enclave was also the second-ranked luxury SUV in Q2, slotting in below the Lexus RX and above the BMW X5. The Buick Enclave was previously in the number-four position during Q1 of 2021.
Other notable insights from the Kelley Blue Book report include the factors driving luxury consideration among buyers. Cadillac was the top-ranked brand in Driving Comfort, which was the third most-important factor during Q2 of 2021 among luxury segment factors. The top most-important factor among luxury buyers was Durability/Reliability, where Lexus was the top-ranked brand.

6th place!!!! woooo hooooo!!!!!! standard of the world!!!!
Why is everyone disliking his comment when it’s the truth! It’s one thing to be a GM fan but obviously Cadillac is not considered a premium brand outside of one model which is evident in its sales.
I think you’re confusing luxury vs premium.
Nice to see that Buick has been elevated up to the luxury class of brands. Once upon a time they ruled the medium price class which has all but disappeared with the cancellation of most of its brands – Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Mercury …
Buick and Chrysler are still hanging on. Dodge? They’ve long played on the margin between the lower level of the medium priced brands and the low price class – Ford, Chevy and Plymouth. And when Plymouth was axed, Dodge filled the void .

I am confused about this article. Are they asking people what brand they feel has the most luxuary or in sales. If I am a luxury dealer do I really want to be the leader in sales? I would much rather have a Alfa Romeo, Maserati, or a Genesis than a BMW or MB – to many of them on the road…OK I would take an AMG or S-class.
Genesis has the service valet where they will pick up your car, drop of a loaner and return your car when service is complete. To me that is Luxury.
Including all of GMs luxury vehicles ( GMC Yukon Denali, Chevrolet Suburban High Country, Buick Enclave Avenir, Chevrolet Corvette) might be a more relevant comparison.
If your numbers include entry level Mercedes and BMW they are hardly luxurious
The Cadillac CT6 was the best cadillac in the last 25 years. Smooth, quiet and fast. A great luxury car for long travels. I can buy any car I want up to $100,000. I test drove the the Mercedes sl500 then the CT6. The Drives were too close to not justify spending an extra $20,000 for the Mercedes. I’m extremely happy with my 2019 CT6.
I ve had 2 3.0tt platinums and love them both, shame they stopped making them
Mercedes ,,,just status symbol
This would have been so much different anyway if there had not been a chip shortage.
