All-New 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Officially Arrives In Mexico

Three months after first announcing the all-new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV in Mexico, General Motors has just officially confirmed the on-sale date of the newest member of the Bolt family in the Latin country. The automaker will begin marketing the 2022 Bolt EUV in mid-September in the Mexican market, which becomes the first auxiliary market to receive the fully electric crossover.

The all-new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV stands out as the model that kicks off GM’s ambitious zero-emission product offensive, which includes launching at least 30 new electric vehicles at the globally by 2025. Before the end of the third quarter, the new Bolt EUV will be launched almost simultaneously in Mexico, South Korea and the Middle East.

“General Motors in Mexico has taken a gradual path with firm steps in the marketing of electric vehicles, and today, we are very happy to take the next step,” said GM Mexico President and CEO Francisco Garza in a press release. “Chevrolet Bolt EUV stands out for its technology in both the interior and the battery module, which provides an exciting driving experience with zero emissions, and we’re expecting it to be very well received by customers.”

Unlike the other countries in which it has been announced in Premier trim, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV arrives in Mexico with the crossover’s base LT trim level. Still, it comes equipped as standard with class-leading technology and active safety features, such as Chevrolet’s latest infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa voice assistant as well as Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, HD Surround View and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Based on the GM BEV2 platform, the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV features an electric motor that produces 200 horsepower (150 kW) and 266 pound-feet of torque, fed by a 65 kWh battery pack giving it a driving range rated at 250 miles or 402 kilometers. Customers who purchase a Bolt EUV in Mexico will receive free installation of a 240V Level 2 charger at their home, with a cable of up to 32.8 feet (10 meters) in length from the electrical outlet.

The all-new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV will go on sale in the middle of next month in Mexico and will only be available in the country’s Chevrolet EV dealer network, which currently consists of eight exclusive stores located in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro, Toluca and Puebla. The LT trim is the only one available and is offered in five paint colors, starting at $930,900 MXN (about $46,160 USD at the current exchange rate).
