2022 GMC Sierra HD Configurator Now Live

The online configurator for the 2022 GMC Sierra HD is live on the automaker’s website, allowing users to customize their own version of the full-size heavy-duty pickup.

The 2022 GMC Sierra HD configurator allows users to select their body style and bed length, trim level, exterior and interior color and preferred options and packages. When they are finished, they can see a complete pricing summary of their build including destination and freight charges. The configurator also makes it easy to shop for a truck, allowing users to input their zip code and shop for a vehicle similar to their preferred configuration at dealerships in their area.

We went ahead and customized our own 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD on the configurator to demonstrate how it can be used. Our example truck is a Crew Cab, Short Bed example in the off-road focused AT4 trim level and equipped with the standard 6.6L L8T V8 gasoline engine. The truck also features a Jet Black with Kalahari accents interior, and the new-for-2022 Forest Green Metallic exterior color. Finally, we opted for the pricy $6,975 AT4 Premium Plus Package, which adds a long list of equipment including:

  • AT4 Preferred Package
  • Driver Alert Package I
  • Driver Alert Package II
  • 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with high gloss Black accents
  • Power sunroof
  • Technology Package
  • AT4 high clearance step

GM has applied a number of small changes to the 2022 GMC Sierra HD. For starters, the base ‘Sierra’ trim has been renamed to Sierra Pro, while the Brownstone Metallic and Carbon Black Metallic exterior colors were both dropped from the truck’s color palette. The HD Radio has also been dropped from the truck’s list of available options due to the semiconductor shortage, while the available heated rear seats will have limited availability for the same reason.

Production of the 2022 GMC Sierra HD began on July 12th at the GM Flint assembly plant in Michigan. Prices for the entry-level Sierra Pro trim start at $37,895 in the United States including destination and freight charges. Access the online configurator at this link.

  1. yea cool colors if you like dark green, dark gray, and 6 different colors of black , cheap black un-painted wheel lip moldings, cheap black bed and bumper steps, Stupid black mirrors with funny mounts on the door, black wall junk good year tires , black interiors and all the dark paints are used to blend all the cheap plastic. no two tone paint , cheap interiors , thin seats , fake allison transmission and it go’s on. the painted bumpers chip so easy , chrome does not. if you remove the name plate of Denali or high country off the doors of the trucks , you would think its a work truck, GM has no wow factor that says buy me.

    1. News flash: HD models are work trucks. What, you want a princess truck that looks pretty for you? Let’s you look like a man?

Reality is, this is a work truck. The plastics you complain about are far more durable, exactly what people who use it for it’s intended purpose want.

If you want a princess truck, go and customize it to your liking.

      1. News flash even people who want the hd work trucks are tired of the cheap plastic. The reality is people are tired of spending 40k+ and the components are that cheap.

  2. I am surprised that it did NOT have the push buttons rather than the shift lever . The interior looks just like my 21 GMC LTZ except for a few buttons. LOVE my 3500 Dually. The finishing throughout is perfect and it idles so smooth you don’t even feel the diesel is running. I do miss my 1998 version but this truck is AWESOME. I just need a course to teach me all the electronics.
    Thanks GM!
