The 2022 GMC Acadia Elevation Edition receives a new wheel design, GM Authority has learned.
Assigned RPO code QGY, the new wheel is an all-black, 20-inch aluminum alloy unit with a double six-spoke design.
Those paying particularly close attention might have noticed that the QGY wheels actually became available to order late in the 2021 model year as a replacement for the 20-inch aluminum wheels with black center caps (Q9V). These wheels were part of the Elevation Edition package introduced for the 2021 Acadia. As such, the new all-black wheels with a new design add a sharp option to the blacked-out package, while also deleting the slight amounts of silver/chrome present on the outgoing wheel.
Originally introduced for the 2019 model year as the Acadia Black Edition and then renamed to Acadia Elevation Edition for the 2021 Acadia, the appearance package takes advantage of the current trend of replacing bright/chrome elements on vehicle exteriors with black ones.
The Elevation Edition (RPO code WBP) is a $1,495 option on SLE and SLT trim levels, and includes the following content:
- 20-inch machined aluminum wheels (QGY)
- Black GMC center caps with black GMC lettering
- 20-inch all-season blackwall tires (QNU)
- Black grille and exterior accents
- Gloss Black roof rails (V59)
The 2022 GMC Acadia Elevation Edition package requires the Jet Black interior and trim, which means premium cloth for SLE models and perforated leather for SLT models. Additionally, the package is not available with the Bright Accent Package or Black Accent Package, or with any LPO-level (accessory-level) wheels.
The 2022 GMC Acadia Elevation Edition is available in six exterior color options:
- Summit White (Standard)
- Satin Steel Metallic (Premium color, $495)
- Ebony Twilight Metallic (Premium color, $495)
- Light Stone Metallic (Premium color, $495)
- Midnight Blue Metallic (Premium color, $495)
- Cayenne Red Tintcoat (Premium color, $495)
As GM Authority exclusively reported in May, roughly one in every four units of the GMC Acadia midsize crossover sold in the United States so far has been fitted with the optional Elevation Edition package.
