2022 Chevy Silverado HD Gets New Greenstone Metallic Color: First Look

The 2022 Chevy Silverado HD (Heavy Duty) – which consists of 2500HD and 3500HD models – features various minor changes and updates, such as the addition of adjustable seat belt guide loops on Crew Cab and Double Cab models, revised availability of the Multi-Flex tailgate, and new 20-inch Machined face aluminum wheels with high gloss Black accents and beadlock appearance.

The model also sees the addition of a single new exterior color option: Greenstone Metallic. Here’s a closer look at the new Greenstone hue.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado HD Greenstone Metallic

Assigned color code GHR and touch-up paint code WA-610G, Greenstone Metallic is the only green exterior paint color options available for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD. Additionally, Greenstone Metallic is also one of metallic hues for the 2022 Silverado HD, with Northsky Blue Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, and Mosaic Black Metallic being the other three choices.

Only one exterior paint option – Oxford Brown Metallic – was deleted for the 2022 Silverado HD model year, so the addition of the new hue keeps the total number of exterior paint options at nine for the heavy duty pick-up truck.

The new Greenstone Metallic color is included in the base price of the 2022 Silverado Heavy Duty models. It’s available in conjunction with all four interior color combinations offered on the 2022 Silverado HD. However, the new hue is not available on the base 1WT trim level.

2022 Silverado 2500 Heavy Duty Trim Levels:

  • Work Truck (1WT)
  • Custom (1CX)
  • LT (1LT)
  • LTZ (1LZ)
  • High Country (3LZ)

2022 Silverado 3500 Heavy Duty Trim Levels:

  • Work Truck (1WT)
  • LT (1LT)
  • LTZ (1LZ)
  • High Country (3LZ)

2022 Silverado Heavy Duty Interior Color Combinations:

  • Jet Black
  • Gideon with Very Dark Atmosphere
  • Jet Black with Umber
  • Jet Black with Carhartt Brown

As of this writing, Chevrolet dealers might have the 2022 Silverado HD in stock, including models in the Cherry Red color. However, the ongoing microchip shortage has severely disrupted the supply of the Silverado family, along with most other vehicles from other manufacturers. As such, we recommend checking with a dealer for complete availability details.

  1. It looks Black , not green , every gm color is very dark to blend in with the cheap black plastic wheel lip moldings , plastic mirrors, plastic bed steps, plastics bumper steps , all unfinished black plastic, that looks worn out in 2 years , crap thin seats , cheap interiors , cheap good year black wall tires , no two tone paint, cheap black tail gate handles , Fake allison transmission , multi pro tail gate that you need a PHD to operate , the high country looks like a custom work truck with a chrome badge.

  2. Still ugly. Get rid of the cheap plastic side step and wheel well trim with at least painted smooth plastic. Get rid of ugly headlights.

    1. Ugly huh? Actual customers are loving these trucks and they are attracting more customers than ever, so the target market loved the design.

Also, there is nothing cheap about the materials used in the BoxStep. Team has been using these in our construction business since they launched and they stand up to the abuse. If you think there is anything cheap here, you’re mistaken big time.

    2. Nor or is their constant “Design Flaw” escape clause. Either stand behind your product or get the eff out of the auto industry. gm has developed a lengthy track record of pissed off customers. A long record which is just getting worse.

      1. Sure is a good thing that Ford has never pissed off any customers, huh? Oh wait, hang on.

Every Ford I’ve ever owned has broken and has gotten a half-dozen recalls despite only being two years out the door.

  7. My Mac’s screen is apparently incapable of revealing any green in Greenstone. All I see is stone. Why is everyone so afraid of color? Longing for the days when men were men and green was, well… green.

  8. Ah yes, notice the subtle glint of a dense forest, the ever so faint suggestion of a mossy glen, the……nah, it’s another shade of gm black. British Racing Green is green, this is an off-shade of black. I had a two-tone Chevy van back in the last century, real green and gold. That was a great combination. I know, I know, I’m old. That’s why I’m buying a new Camaro, stick-shift please.

    1. My dealer told me yesterday that this color will not be offered on 1500s.

  10. Looks black. Not surprised. I think the entire auto industry needs to hire me and a few of my buds to do their paint colours. Black, white, 50 shades of grey, nearly black, … black, white, 50 shades of grey, nearly black, (repeat). Every darn dealer lot I drive by it’s a sea of these colours. You have to look hard to pick out the others. Look! A red one!
