2022 Chevy Silverado HD Custom Adds Optional Power Driver’s Seat

The 2022 Chevy Silverado HD Custom will offer a 10-way power driver’s seat as an available option.

The new optional 10-way power driver’s seat for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD Custom is tagged with RPO code A2X, and requires the Custom Convenience Package (RPO code PCX) and 120-volt instrument panel power outlet (RPO code KI4). The option will have late availability on the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD Custom. Pricing information is currently unavailable.

Previously, the A2X 10-way power driver’s seat was not offered on the Custom trim level, as it was optional on 2021 Chevy Silverado HD LT trim levels, and standard on 2021 Chevy Silverado HD LTZ and High Country trim levels. The feature’s availability remains the same on the LT, LTZ and High Country models for the latest 2022 model year.

So far, the ongoing global microchip shortage has affected the availability of certain features of the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD. This includes the Silverado HD’s Heated Second Row Outboard Seats (RPO code KA6), which were originally set to be offered as part of of the LTZ Convenience Package (RPO code PCV) for LTZ Crew Cab models, and as standard on High Country Crew Cab models. However, the shortage has resulted in limited availability for this feature, as GM Authority covered previously.

What’s more, the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD deletes HD Radio (RPO code U2L) outright from the features list. For the moment, there is no indication whether or not the feature will return during the remainder of the 2022 model year for the heavy-duty pickup.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado HD represents the third model year of the latest fourth-generation truck, which received a complete overhaul (redesign and re-engineering) for the 2020 model year. Looking ahead, the Chevy Silverado HD is expected to receive a refresh for the 2024 model year. Meanwhile, the Light Duty Chevy Silverado 1500 will introduce a refresh for the 2022 model year consisting of new front and rear fascias along with an all-new cockpit.

  1. This is a bigger deal than many might realize. I love the look of the custom trim and the only thing that it’s lacking is power drivers seat and rear seat backrest storage.

  2. Silverado HD custom thorough front end new design; is very attractive. It reminds me of the classic C10 custom line of the 60’s. Congratulations on a terrific job of the style GM department. At the end this “retro” design tells us why C10 of the 60’s was more attractive than its ford rival featuring twin-I beam front suspension. To keep pace with F- series you at GM must be quite original and try not to copy new trends, since Chevrolet trucks are respectable trucks.!
