The official online configurator for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD is now live, giving fans and potential customers a chance to browse the various options and spec theirs to taste.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado HD is the third model year for the latest fourth-generation nameplate, and includes both the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and the 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500HD.
Updates over the preceding 2021 model year include deletion of the Oxford Brown Metallic exterior color, which is replaced with Greenstone Metallic instead. The 2022 model year also introduced new 20-inch Machined face aluminum wheels with high gloss Black accents and beadlock appearance, tagged with RPO code SQ9 and offered as an LPO-level item (that is, installed by dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is originally produced). The new 20-inch wheels are not available on Work Truck models.
Furthermore, the Multi-Flex tailgate feature is now available on all models.
Additional features include a new 10-way power driver’s seat for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD Custom trim level, which is tagged with RPO code A2X and is offered as an available option. Previously, the 10-way power driver’s seat was unavailable on Custom trim levels, but was offered as optional on 2021 Chevy Silverado HD LT trims. The feature was also standard on 2021 Silverado HD LTZ and High Country trim levels. Availability for LT, LTZ, and High Country trims remains the same going forward with the 2022 model year.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD offers limited availability for the Heated Second Row Outboard Seats option. Tagged with RPO code KA6, the Heated Second Row Outboard Seats are offered as part of the LTZ Convenience Package, and come as standard on High Country trims. However, due to the ongoing global microchip shortage, some units of the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD that would normally equip the feature no longer have it.

Configure away!! Maybe it will get built as a 2023 model year. Seriously, with so many 2021 orders that got flipped to 22’s and the backlog on 2022 orders (that are anything more than base trucks) not sure why GM would put this up, get customers excited and then let them down with all the production delays. My Aug 1 order of a new 22 SLE level 3500HD, dealer says likely January now. Big dealer who sells a ton of HD’s normally.
Mine is already in transit. Expected 11/10. Price was only different with the new order due to unable the get the fifth wheel package.
Yours was built on 9/26/21 and You are not getting it until 11/10/21, hope mine does not take that long to get delivered after it’s build date! If it ever gets built! Dealer told me they are basically only building diesel’s for now! So guess my gasser is out in the wind for now!
It did get pushed back to 10/4/21, but then I didn’t check on it again until 10/27/21 and it was bayed, awaiting shipping. Event code 4B00. Then on the 29th I checked GM’s local inventory online and it was up there as in transit.
Oh Okay. I was just worried, with the trucker shortage, that was what delayed Yours’s getting shipped. My Dealer estimates once mine goes on the build sheet it will take anywhere from 2-3 weeks before it is delivered to Him.
Mine was switched to a 22 model and was told the fifth wheel puck system was constraint. So I’m getting everything else I wanted but that and have a production date of 9/26/21. Ltz Z71 gas motor.
Looks no different from my 2020 2500 HD. So glad I got that truck when we did. That same truck today is 20 grand more
Thanks, but no thanks. Be nice if they could deliver what I configure. I’ll keep my 2017 Silverado.
BTW, This issue isn’t limited to GM. I signed up and left a deposit for a Bronco in May 2019. Delivery is now pushed back, again, to May 2022 now. But, for the delay, Ford will give me 200 points to use for accessories or maintenance…..bahahaha!
Glad I got my 2021 HD last fall I love it and the trade-in value has sky rocketed
What a great way to dream about purchasing a way overpriced truck that you won’t get for another 3 years!
Ordered My New 2500HD Z71 LT Back on July 2nd, 2021! Now was pushed to a 2022! Dealer promised me I won’t pay more than my Orde Work Bench form states, but we will see, I know Dealer Stock 2022’s are MSRP’d more than my MSRP on My order form! Here it is Oct 1st still have no build date for it! So not sure I will see it this year or not!
