The 2022 Cadillac XT5 arrives as the sixth model year of the first-generation crossover, dropping in with a few changes and updates over the preceding 2021 model year. Among these is the addition of a new standard 20-inch wheel.
The new standard 20-inch wheel on offer with the 2022 Cadillac XT5 Sport is tagged with RPO code Q71, and arrives as a replacement for the 20-inch wheel (RPO code Q6Q) offered as standard for the 2021 model year.
The new new Q71 wheel is officially dubbed 20-inch 12-spoke alloy wheels with Pearl Nickel finish, which is the same description used for the Q6Q wheel it replaces. Meanwhile, the optional wheel selection for the 2022 Cadillac XT5 Sport is unchanged from the 2021 model year, offering the following choices (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- 20-inch 12-Spoke Diamond Cut alloy wheels with Dark Android Satin finish pockets (Q6N)
- 20-inch Gloss Black wheels (S2K)
- 20-inch Chrome wheels (S1T)
To note, the 20-inch Gloss Black wheels (RPO code S2K) wheel option is included with the Onyx Package (RPO code PDB), while the 20-inch Chrome wheels (RPO code S1T) is included with the Radiant Package (RPO code PDV).
Further changes and updates debuting with the introduction of the 2022 Cadillac XT5 include a change up to the exterior color options, with Shadow Metallic (paint code GJI) and Garnet Metallic (paint code GLR) both deleted, replaced by Latte Metallic (paint code G5D) and Rosewood Metallic (paint code GCK).
The 2022 Cadillac XT5 Sport also adds new front Brembo brakes (RPO code J56) with front and rear rear painted calipers as standard, replacing the four-wheel antilock, four-wheel vented disk brakes (RPO code JL9) equipped prior.
As before, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 is offered with two engine options, namely the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines connect to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
