The 2022 Cadillac Escalade will introduce just a handful of changes and updates compared to the 2021 model year. Among these is the deletion of two exterior paint colors.
The 2022 Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV will introduce a revised exterior paint palette with the deletion of Shadow Metallic and Dark Mocha Metallic. In addition to the deletion of these two exterior colors, the new Escalade will introduce three new exterior colors, namely Mahogany Metallic, Galactic Gray Metallic, and Wilder Metallic.
All three of the new 2022 Cadillac Escalade exterior paint colors will be offered for an extra charge. For the moment, there no photos of the three new exterior colors.
Other updates and changes slated for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade include the addition of the Buckle To Drive feature, as GM Authority covered previously. This feature is an extension of the Teen Driver system, and works to promote safe seatbelt usage. When active, teen drivers are encouraged to buckle up with an auditory beep and visual message in the driver information center. What’s more, the system does not allow the driver to shift the vehicle out of park until he or she fastens their seatbelt. Once their seatbelt is secured, the system will allow the vehicle to be shifted out of park.
Further updates for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade include the deletion of the Near Field Communication phone pairing feature. The system enables quick data transfer between compatible devices that are placed in near proximity to one another, thus streamlining the smart device-to-infotainment pairing process. Previously offered as standard for the 2021 model year, the latest Escalade will not offer NFC phone pairing moving forward, as smartphone pairing has been significantly simplified over the last few years.
The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is the second model year of the all-new fifth-generation nameplate, which was introduced for the 2021 model year. Highlights for the fifth generation include an all-new exterior, an all-new interior, and the latest technology, such as a large OLED curved infotainment display, and the inclusion of the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous drive system.

You left out the new colors on the 2022 GMC Acadia, especially finally a GOLD color, and I can’t wait!
Just one ol’ bear’s opinion, but, no offered color should be extra charge, especially on vehicles that can hit 6-figure sticker prices.
A custom one-off in quantities of, say, less than five, I can see. But this extra-charge-for-colors thing is getting old.
They telling you all this but when are they going to start taking orders for these or the Yukon I am not hearing anything and dealerships act like they doesn’t know
Be still my heart. Good thing they raised the Cadillac demographic. That Wilder Metallic might have killed a geezer! Can’t wait to hear the new interior colors. Maybe they’ll bring back the 1974 Buick LeSabre Gosmer Cloth? How about, [dare I say it?] an all white interior? That would remove all pretense of a work vehicle. Even pimps don’t want white inside. But how could the market a white interior? It would have to cost more. Few would step up other than the very wealthy. I’ve got it! The new interior will be called White Privilege. What would that say if placed inside a dark, even black vehicle? Don’t even think about a Summit White Escalade with White Privilege interior! Riots would ensue!
Just give us the V Cadillac at least a date! thank you
When will the 3 new colors be released???
