Oldsmobile Bravada Driver Carelessly Backs Into Neighbour’s Chevy Silverado: Video

Parking your vehicle on the road, rather than in a garage, driveway or dedicated parking space, can be a bit risky. When you leave a vehicle parked on the side of a public street, you are placing quite a bit of trust on your fellow motorists not to crash into it or sideswipe it – a high-risk wager considering many folks’ limited driving talents. Unfortunately, the driver of a Chevy Silverado had to learn this lesson the hard way after a careless Oldsmobile Bravada driver backed directly into their new truck.

According to the description for this clip, the owner of the truck, a “brand new” Northsky Blue Metallic Chevy Silverado 1500, had parked their vehicle on their street in front of or near their house. Their security camera then caught the neighbour reversing out of their driveway in their white Oldsmobile Bravada crossover and backing directly into the Silverado’s left rear corner. After the impact, the Bravada driver appears to hang around for a second deliberating over what to do before eventually deciding to just get out of dodge and drive away. Little did they know their neighbour’s home security camera captured the entire incident on video, which we’re sure made for an awkward neighbourly exchange.

Luckily for the Chevy Silverado owner, the truck’s CornerStep rear bumper is designed to be tough and durable. We’d be surprised if this low speed, bumper-on-bumper contact resulted in any damage beyond a paint scratch or two, so hopefully they were able to work something out with their neighbour. We’re sure this is the last time they’ll be parking their new truck on the road here, as well. If you have a garage or driveway, you might as well use it! Especially if your daily driver is a pricy new pickup truck.

  1. The Olds drive committed a crime. Hit and run.

But anyone who parts across from a drive way is putting themselves at risk. I had a neighbor that loved to part at the end of my drive on a narrow street. I came close a few time to hitting them.

If you have a driveway use it.

  3. Growing up in the mid-west where the summer heat and humidity were hi and the winter snow/ice/cold were not fun for cars, nearly everyone uses garages. In 2010 when I moved to the Los Angeles area, I was quite shocked to see how nearly NOBODY uses garages! Everyone is parking in the driveway, across the sidewalks, in the street, etc. And then they wonder why their vehicles look so bad after only 3 or 4 years.

In this article and video, it doesn’t show or say where this was. But it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if in California.
