General Motors just introduced the new 2021 Chevy Menlo EV Mickey Space Edition, a special-edition variant of the fully electric crossover that commemorates the 52nd anniversary of the first human to set afoot on the moon on July 20th, 1969. The automaker announced that the new Menlo EV Mickey Space Edition was designed to appeal to young families and will be available in a limited number of units in China.
The 2021 Chevy Menlo EV Mickey Space Edition officially debuted and went on sale simultaneously on Tuesday, July 20th, in the Chinese market, the only place where the nameplate is marketed. This is the second special edition of the Chevy Menlo EV that SAIC-GM and Disney develop together, after another themed variant called Menlo EV Mickey Magic Edition that was previously launched in the Asian country.
The 2021 Chevy Menlo EV Mickey Space Edition includes multiple decorative elements inspired by the Mickey Space Adventure saga, giving the vehicle a creative and innovative look. Outside, the space theme features comet, planet and Mickey Mouse astronaut decals on the sides of the body, the rear windows and the panoramic roof, as well as distinctive badges on the D pillars, the front doors and the liftgate.
The cabin of the 2021 Chevy Menlo EV Mickey Space Edition adopts a two-tone color scheme, with exclusive Alcantara trim on the steering wheel and some dashboard accenting in conjunction with distinctive Astronaut Mickey badges. In addition, the fully digital instrument panel and infotainment system have a personalized interface with icons designed by Disney that further accentuate the vehicle’s uniqueness.
Mechanically, the 2021 Chevy Menlo EV Mickey Space Edition keeps the same powertrain setup as the rest of the nameplate’s lineup. The system features an electric motor with an output of 148 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired up with a 52.5 kWh battery pack providing a driving range of up to 410 kilometers or 256 miles on a single charge.
The 2021 Chevy Menlo EV Mickey Space Edition is now available in select stores throughout Chevrolet’s extensive dealer network in China, where only 188 units of this limited-edition crossover will be offered. The new edition can be selected in each of the four distinctive trim levels of the Menlo EV and with the same price range of the regular versions:
- Menlo EV Space Starshare: 159,990 CNY (about $24,670 USD at current exchange rate)
- Menlo EV Space Galaxy: 164,900 CNY ($25,430 USD)
- Menlo EV Space Nebula: 174,900 CNY ($26,970 USD)
- Menlo EV Space Starlux: 179,900 CNY ($27,740 USD)

Walt must be turning in his grave. Discusting.
You do know there is a Disneyland in Shanghai.
Disney, GM, and selling out to the Chinese – name a more iconic trio. What a perfect pairing.
I would prefer not to have the foolish Disney world into my personal space.
But I salute Thomas Alva Edison who is memorized by the basic name plate of this car, Menlo, from Menlo Park, New Jersey where Edison achieved most of his groundbraking developments.
The name Menlo Park is burnt in my memory since childhood when I read a book about Edison’s life and work.
Let’s see what this melon can do.
Bring the mento to America! An ev wagon would do well!

Why don’t we have this CUV in the US ? Why aren’t we manufacturing it in the US ? Pretty soon it will be what’s best for General Motors is best for China !
Maybe the company thinks that it is not good enough for USA?
