The 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited Trail Boss is only available in a Crew Cab body style. The latest Chevy Silverado Limited Trail Boss won’t be available in a Double Cab body style, as was the case for the 2021 model year.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado Limited is still available in a Double Cab body style with WT, Custom, LT, and RST trim levels.
For those readers who may be unaware, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited serves as a “stop-gap” model that bridges the gap between the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 and the fully refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. Originally, the Silverado 1500 was set for a full refresh with the introduction of the 2022 model year, but due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was pushed back to later in the 2022 model year.
As such, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited carries over the same aspects of the pre-refresh 2021 model year, including the same trim levels, exterior colors, and interior colors.
That said, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited will offer a few unique features compared to the 2021 model year. This includes a new powertrain option for the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited LT Trail Boss, which adds the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax to the lineup, mating to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Previously, the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss was offered with either the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 as standard, or the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 as an available option.
Order books for the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited are now open, with dealers officially allowed to place an order as of July 15th. Production of the 2022 Silverado Limited will kick off at the GM Silao plant in Mexico on September 20th, and at the GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana on September 27th.

I m in Canada, maybe it is different in the US, local dealers can t yet order the limited editions here, more precisely as a customer I can t order one yet. Any luck in the US ?

I certainly hope that when the real 2022 comes out a Dbl cab Trail Boss Custom will be back. I’ve mentioned on here before about ordering my ’21 Trail Boss DBL Cab Custom only to have it cancelled 3 times. It would be very disappointing to not have the DBL Cab Trail Boss Custom on the real ’22. I much prefer the DBL cab but I use my truck like a truck and not to haul kids or such. DBL cab TB Custom has been the only iteration of the current truck I like or want.
The way gm is going, eventually all trim levels will only be available in Crew Cabs. Regular cabs are just about finished so double cabs are next .
What’s next, triple cabs? You know you need that third row for hauling kids around.
Maybe they’ll have a 2’6″ bed. Just enough for a single appliance to fit.
No reason except to get a some extra bucks out of you.
GM wants to make sure there is plenty of room to fit people in the truck. That way when the DFM system causes the engine to fall apart there are plenty of people to push it off the road.
It Really seems like all the companies only want you to buy a crew cab truck as all their after is more money? Hense why do you think GM gets a large amount of their pickups and even High Country’s built in Mexico for maximum profits. Sad thing is that the workers can’t even afford what they are building? That sure isn’t what Henry Ford nor Adolph Hitler envisioned for the workers that built their cars. I am so sick of seeing Crew Cab trucks that it is refreshing to actually see a regular cab truck these days.
How many Corvettes are left to build for the 2021 model year?
