The Trail Boss package for the 2022 Chevy Colorado is available in conjunction with all 2022 Chevy Colorado powertrain options.
The 2022 Chevy Colorado offers the Trail Boss package for both the LT and Z71 trim levels, and only with four-wheel drive. Both the LT and Z71 trims are available in Extended Cab, Crew Cab / Short Box, and Crew Cab / Long Box body configurations.
Although the 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 four-wheel trim level can only be specified with the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, the LT Extended Cab is available with either the 3.6L V6 LGZ or the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine. Meanwhile, LT and Z71 Crew Cab models are available with either the 3.6L V6 LGZ or the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax.
As such, the Trail Boss package is available in conjunction with all three powertrain options for the 2022 Chevy Colorado, depending on the trim level and configuration selected.
As a reminder, the naturally aspirated 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine is rated at 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 3.6: V6 LGZ is rated at 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, and the 2.8L I4 LWN is rated at 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
To note, the Trail Boss package for the 2022 Chevy Colorado is tagged with RPO code PEC, and includes the following content (relevant RPO code listed in parentheses):
- 17-inch High gloss Black wheels (SE0)
- Red recovery hooks (W0H)

- Black Colorado emblems (SMG)

Meanwhile Z71 trim levels do not offer the Trail Boss package in conjunction with the Z71 Midnight Edition (PDN) or any other LPO wheels.

Smart move. This truck is like the 4×4 version of the ZQ8 package where people can buy it and make it their own.
Not that I am a 4 cylinder guy but many ZQ8 models sold were base engine and many got engine swaps.
Much better than buying a ZR2 at a higher price and tossing away parts you may not use.
Six new ZQ8 trucks were mine.
I thought the 2.7 liter turbo 4 cylinder gas engine was going to be an option on the 2022 models of Colorado and Canyon.
23 in new model.
I’m happy the 2.5 is getting this package much deserved.
I’m mad cause I’m waiting on my GMC 2500 diesel Truck, and now I won’t get it until after January or February maybe???!!
