Like the preceding 2021 model year, the 2022 Chevy Camaro is once again offered with the Shock And Steel Special Edition package, as GM Authority covered previously. However, the package offered for the 2022 model year differs from the package offered for the 2021 model year in two crucial ways.
To begin, the Shock And Steel Special Edition package offered for 2022 Chevy Camaro is available with the new Rapid Blue exterior paint, which arrives as a replacement for the Shock paint option offered for the 2021 model year. Black, Satin Steel Metallic, and Summit White are still available for the 2022 model year. Chevrolet previewed the new Rapid Blue exterior paint option in February at the Daytona 500, draping the new hue across the body panels of the official NASCAR pace car.
Secondly, the Shock And Steel Special Edition package offered for 2022 Chevy Camaro includes the Rear stanchion spoiler (RPO code D5Z), which replaces the Body-color high-wing spoiler (RPO code 5V5) previously included with the package for 2021-model-year 2LT and 3LT Coupes. To note, the Rear stanchion spoiler was already standard on SS Coupes and all Convertible models.
The rest of the 2022 Chevy Camaro Shock And Steel Special Edition package includes 20-inch blade design aluminum wheels, Carbon Flash exterior mirrors, a carbon fiber fuel filler cap, yellow-painted brake calipers, and a few upgrades in the cabin as well.
What’s more, the Shock And Steel Package includes the RS Package (RPO code WRS) and Brembo four-pot brakes (RPO code J55) when ordered with 2LT and 3LT trim levels. The Shock And Steel Package is unavailable with the Redline Package (RPO code WBL) and the SS 1LE Track Performance Package (RPO code A1Y), while the color of the center stripe is dependent on the exterior paint color selected.

I’m all for what ever it takes to get the line rolling. Just get my Rapid Blue Convertible built and shipped to me. Summer is only so long before winter sets in again..
Again, I keep screaming about this, but bring back the synergy green metallic color or something close to it. The camaro looks sharp with this color; my 2011 still gets complements out the kazoo from total strangers!
