2022 Cadillac XT5 Configurator Now Live

The online configurator tool for the 2022 Cadillac XT5 has officially gone live on the luxury automaker’s website, allowing users to customize their own version of the popular compact crossover.

We hopped on Cadillac.com and experimented with the configurator ourselves, creating the well-equipped 2022 Cadillac XT5 seen here. Our example vehicle is based on the Premium Luxury trim and features the available Platinum Package. We also selected the Dark Moon Blue Metallic exterior color and the Maple Sugar semi-aniline leather seats with chevron perforated inserts. We opted for the 20-inch chrome wheels over the gloss black-painted wheels, as well, and added some extras like monochrome Cadillac badges and roof rack cross rails.

General Motors has applied some minor changes and updates to the 2022 Cadillac XT5. The luxury crossover will ditch two previously available exterior colors, Shadow Metallic and Garnet Metallic, which will not be replaced by any new colors. The vehicle will also receive a new Brembo performance brake package, which includes Brembo front brakes and red-painted front and rear brake calipers. The crossover will also have limited availability for the wireless charging pad for the 2022MY due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage.

The Cadillac XT5 is available with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which produces 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 3.6L LGX V6, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with GM’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard across the board, while all-wheel-drive is available for a price premium.

Production of the 2022 Cadillac XT5 began at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee on June 24th. GM began accepting dealer orders for the 2022MY Cadillac XT5 in late May.

  1. Is this thing getting a refresh anytime soon?? It is so long in the tooth

  2. This is what GM does. They ride a model out for 5-7 years with very little changes and reap the benefits profit-wise. The less they spend to “refresh” things the more they make. The funny thing is, they will get all of the issues worked out by years 5-7, then do a total refresh and start all over again. I would not hesitate to buy one of these, but only if I could get the AWD, 2.0L, Luxury trim with floor liner package for $40K. The $47K MSRP is simply too much.

    1. There will be no more re-engineered XT5’s. The replacement in this segment will be the all electric Lyriq due out next year,

  3. 5 years without a refresh. That’s Cadillac imitating the Germans again.

  4. I have a 2021 model, PLEASE come up with a fix for the squealing brakes. My dealer said they can’t fix until GM authorized the fix. It has been since December and nothing yet. Very discouraging for a luxury car. I loved my previous xt5.

  5. They should put Super Cruise level 2 to XT5. Apparently Cadillac is waitng until it will get obsolete and then they will put it in.

  6. Some will probably hold out for the refreshed ’23.

    1. I don’t think that there will be a refreshed ’23. as Cadillac has committed to becoming the first GM brand to be all-electric.
