2021 GMC Yukon Whiteout Build Brings The Custom Goodies: Video

General Motors ushered in a brand-new fifth generation for the GMC Yukon nameplate with the 2021 model year, introducing new styling inside and out, as well as new tech, new trim levels, and a new diesel engine option. Now, VIP Auto Accessories has customized this 2021 GMC Yukon Denali with a full “Whiteout” build, adding a variety of bespoke upgrades to kick the full-sizer up a notch.

The first thing to catch our eye is the factory Summit White paint, which covers this 2021 GMC Yukon Denali from tip to tail. To this canvas, VIP Auto Accessories added its Chrome Delete package, replacing the chrome fog light surrounds and grille with body-matched Summit White painted pieces instead.

VIP Auto Accessories also painted the rear bumper, door handles, bodyside moldings, and roof rails the same color as the body, adding further custom touches without straying too far from the standard factory appearance. To help the body stay crisp and clean, a new ceramic coating was added, which should help to protect the paint from the elements for up to five years.

With the Whiteout treatment locked and loaded, the 2021 GMC Yukon Denali then received a selection of black accents, which work well to complement the white exterior. For starters, the Denali’s optional factory 22-inch machined aluminum wheels were powder-coated with gloss black paint, while the brake calipers underneath received the same treatment, creating a nice, cohesive look in the corners.

Further gloss black accents include a refinish for the GMC vent accents, while new blackout emblems and badging dot the body, such as in the doors with the Denali badges, and in the rear of the vehicle with the GMC, Yukon, and Denali badges.

What’s more, VIP Auto Accessories added the Yukon’s optional illuminated GMC grille emblem to the front end, which acts as the cherry on top by complementing the black badging with a black finish during the day, then shining bright at night.

  3. Cool but we hot rodders/customizers have been doing that for years. Back in the 80s that was the Monochrome look. I did my 88 lowered Astro in all white. It is good to see the carmakers on the ‘newstalgia’ mindset and putting past trends back on the streets.

  4. Love it. Glad to see the diesel offering. I live in hot and sunny Nevada. White in the desert is the only way to go. Having a black vehicle in the desert Southwest is absolutely crazy. A big heat and sun radiation absorber. Black is great for the Northeast and Midwest.

Hope this vehicle is displayed at this year’s SEMA Show in Sin City.

    1. I have a white vehicle, however, you can hardly tell with the jet black interior as it absorbs all the sun that comes in through windows.

  8. To each their own, but IMO the whiteout is ugly.

  9. Your best bet is to order a white exterior with a light gray or light tan colored interior to shed the sun’s radiation and reduce the heat. Also your interior will last 10X’s longer.

Since you already have a black interior, my suggestion is to install maximum dark window sunscrean films to keep the interior cool. Very popular in Arizona and Nevada.

I live in Nevada and have a white Suburban with light gray leather interior, light gray dash mat, light gray floor mats, dark window sunscreen films. This combination works terrific in hot sunny climates and even in moderate climates to shed the heat.

You can burn your fanny having a dark or black interior living in the Southwest with naked windows, or even having the lighter window sunscreen film with a dark or black interior. Make sure you get the darkest aftermarket sunscreen film. On your next vehicle order a light interior of your choice. I recommend leather. And treat your leather with liquid glycerine leather treatment every six months. I recommend Bentley’s and Fiebing’s leather care products.

Enjoy your cooler ride. The temp has been in the hundreds this week in Nevada, and my vehicle stays cool and comfortable in the sun. Also crack your windows a little when parked to prevent the interior from baking itself out. As always don’t leave kids, infants and pets in the vehicle.

  10. Let’s hope Gm fixed all the massive issues they refuse to recall on the 2015 model. Since I’ve now had to send both taillights to Texas to have the light issue fixed, the a/c we are still fighting, and the transmission issues. You would think they would have done something to redeem themselves for all of us who probably won’t buy another due to this experience.

  11. Any chance you would give credit to the shop who did this customization or perhaps credit the photographer?

  12. Agree with John Ream. Would be a nice tribute to recognize the smaller players who made this vehicle and article possible.

Hope to see everybody at the SEMA Show this year.

  13. As a Yukon Denali owner, I must say, this looks like a kia compared to the new escalade. The new Escalade is untouchable. Anything without a digital dash, might as well throw in the towel. Are Yukon denali, OLED or you’re moving backwards. To still have gauges on the dash, this thing’s a dinosaur.
