General Motors has officially unveiled the refreshed 2022 Buick Enclave, introducing new features and options to the nameplate including sharper exterior styling, additional safety tech and exclusive equipment for the Avenir trim level.
The Enclave was originally set to receive a refresh for the 2021 model year, however the refresh was pushed back to the 2022 model year due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. The most apparent change is the revised exterior styling, which includes a redesigned front fascia with a larger grille and thin LED headlamps and a different rear fascia with new taillights. New alloy wheel options are also on the table, along with a unique grille and wheels for models equipped with the available Sport Touring package.
Inside, the 2022 Buick Enclave gets a restyled center console with a new push-button Electronic Transmission Range Select and additional premium soft touch points. Other new interior features and options include an available rear camera mirror, available rear pedestrian alert, an available color head-up display, front park assist and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The range-topping Avenir trim level returns for the 2022 model year and incorporates new equipment, as well. Avenir models will receive unique front and rear fascia treatments, individual interior trim appliques, different seat sew patterns, heated/ventilated/massaging seats, standard adaptive cruise control and standard enhanced automatic emergency braking. These well-equipped models will also be available with a new Continous Damping Control active suspension for additional ride refinement and comfort.
“The 2022 Buick Enclave’s enhancements elevate the design and driving experience that premium SUV customers have come to expect and appreciate,” said Buick boss Duncan Aldred. “After nearly 15 years as one of the segment’s pioneering premium SUVs, the Enclave continues to reward customers by offering more style and substance.”
The Enclave will continue with the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, which produces 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm. The V6 is paired with a GM nine-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive optional.
The 2022 Buick Enclave will be built at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan. Information with regard to pricing and fuel economy will be released closer to its market arrival later this year.
