2022 Cadillac XT6 Loses These Two Paint Colors

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 is set to introduce a few changes and updates over the current 2021 model year vehicle, including the deletion of two exterior paint colors.

The two exterior paint colors set for elimination with the 2022 model year include Shadow Metallic, paint code GJI, and Garnet Metallic, paint code GLR. Both paint colors were available on all trim levels for the 2021 model year, and in conjunction with all interior color combinations. Both cost an additional $625.

Each of the deleted colors will eventually be replaced by two new hues for the 2022 Cadillac XT6.

The other paint colors on offer will include Crystal White Tricoat, Satin Steel Metallic, Radiant Silver Metallic, Stellar Black Metallic, Manhattan Noir Metallic, Red Horizon Tintcoat, and Dark Mocha Metallic.

As GM Authority covered previously, the 2022 Cadillac XT6 will also introduce a new Brembo performance brake package for the Sport trim level. The new brake package includes Brembo front performance discs, as well as red-painted calipers for the front and rear wheels.

As for the engine spec, the 2022 Cadillac XT6 is expected to once again come equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm, as the base-model engine, while higher in the line, the crossover is expected to come equipped with the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower at 6,700 rpm and 271 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. Both engines will mate to a nine-speed automatic transmission, with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive on offer to put the power down. Under the skin, the Cadillac XT6 rides on the extended-length GM C1 platform.

Production of the 2022 Cadillac XT6 is set to begin later this year, rolling off the line at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee.

  2. Sorry to see the Shadow Metallic being cancelled. We have s Shadow 2020CT6 Premium Luxury and we are constantly asked about the color.

GM loves limiting the buyers color choices. Hey…how about “any color you want as long as it is black”?!
