The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 adds four new exterior colors to its palette: Cayenne Red Tintcoat, Ebony Twilight Metallic, Brownstone Metallic, and Hunter Metallic. Here’s a closer look at the new gray hue.
Assigned color code GED and touch-up paint code WA-244F, Hunter Metallic is one of five dark hues, with Onyx Black, Ebony Twilight Metallic, Brownstone Metallic, and Pacific Blue Metallic being the other four choices. Hunter Metallic replaces Smokey Quartz Metallic, which was deleted for the 2021 model year. Comparatively, Hunter Metallic is a blueish gray hue whereas the discontinued Smokey Quartz Metallic was a charcoal gray paint option.
It is worth noting that three of the four new colors for the 2021 model year are metallic paint options, bringing the total number of metallic paint colors to seven for the 2021 Sierra 1500. With four exterior paint options deleted for the 2021 Sierra 1500, the addition of four new hues keeps the total number of exterior paint options at 12 for the light duty pickup truck.
The new Hunter Metallic color is not included in the base price of the 2021 Sierra 1500, costing an extra $495. It’s available in conjunction with two of the four interior color combinations and the new hue is available on only the Denali trim level.

Notably, Summit White is the only exterior paint option included in the base price of the 2021 Sierra 1500.
As of this writing, Chevrolet dealers might have the 2021 Sierra 1500 in stock, including models in Hunter Metallic. However, the ongoing microchip shortage has severely disrupted the supply of the GMC Sierra as well as of most vehicles from other manufacturers, so we recommend checking with a dealer for complete availability details.
