The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 adds four new exterior colors to its palette: Cayenne Red Tintcoat, Brownstone Metallic, Hunter Metallic, and Ebony Twilight Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Ebony Twilight hue.
Assigned color code GB8 and touch-up paint code WA-384A, Ebony Twilight Metallic is one of two black exterior paint color options available for the 2021 Sierra 1500, with the other one being Onyx Black. The difference between the two is that Ebony Twilight is a metallic color, while Onyx Black is not.
Additionally, Ebony Twilight is one of five dark hues for the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500, with the other choices being Onyx Black, Pacific Blue Metallic, Hunter Metallic, and Brownstone Metallic.
It is worth noting that three of the four new colors are metallic paint options, bringing the total number of metallic paint colors to seven for the 2021 Sierra. With four exterior paint options deleted for the 2021 Sierra 1500, the addition of the four new hues keeps the total number of exterior paint options at 12 for the light duty pickup truck line.
Notably, Summit White is the only exterior paint option included in the base price of the 2021 Sierra 1500. By comparison, the new Ebony Twilight Metallic color is not included in the base price of the 2021 Sierra 1500. Instead, it costs an additional $495. It’s available in conjunction with all interior color combinations and all trim levels with the exception of the Sierra (base) trim level.

As of this writing, GMC dealers might have the 2021 Sierra 1500 in stock, including models in Ebony Twilight. However, the ongoing microchip shortage has severely disrupted the supply of Sierra pickups as well as most vehicles from other manufacturers, so we recommend checking with a dealer for complete availability details.
Prospective buyers may be interested to know that the 2021 model year sees the addition of Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new wheel availability, and several new packages.
