The 2021 Chevy Silverado MD (Medium Duty) – which consists of Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD models – brings about various minor changes and updates, such as the addition of new standard StabiliTrak and Neutral-at-Stop options, an open rear axle, along with five new exterior colors: Satin Steel Gray Metallic, Northsky Blue Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, and Smokey Quartz Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Smokey Quartz hue.
Assigned color code GS6 and touch-up paint code WA-634D, Smokey Quartz Metallic is one of three grayish exterior paint color options available for the 2021 Silverado Medium Duty, with the others being Shadow Gray Metallic and Satin Steel Metallic. The Smokey Quartz Metallic hue falls in the middle of the color scale compared to the two other grayish options, Satin Steel Metallic being the lightest and Shadow Gray Metallic being the darkest.
Notably, all five new colors are metallic paint options, bringing the total number of metallic paint colors to nine for the 2021 Silverado MD. Interestingly, no exterior paint options were deleted for the 2021 Silverado MD when compared to the 2020 model year. As such, there is now a total of 12 exterior paint options available for the 2021 Silverado Medium Duty line.
The new Smokey Quartz Metallic color is included in the base price of the 2021 Silverado Medium Duty. It’s also available in conjunction with both of the truck’s trim levels and interior color combinations.
2021 Silverado Medium Duty Trim Levels:
- Work Truck (1WT)
- LT (1LT)
2021 Silverado Medium Duty Interior Color Combinations:
- Jet Black
- Dark Ash with Jet Black
As of this writing, Chevrolet dealers are well-stocked with the 2021 Silverado Medium Duty. Models in the Smokey Quartz exterior color are not widely available, since most of the landed Silverado Medium Duty inventory appears to be finished in a white color. We recommend contacting a dealer to check for complete availability details.
