The 2021 Chevy Silverado HD (Heavy Duty) – which consists of 2500HD and 3500HD models – features various minor changes and updates, such as the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, interior rearview mirror with partial video display, Bed View Camera, and multiple new package options and special editions. The model also sees the addition of two new exterior color options: Mosaic Black Metallic and Cherry Red Tintcoat. Here’s our closer look at the new Cherry Red hue.
Assigned color code GSK and touch-up paint code WA-252F, Cherry Red Tintcoat is the only tintcoat paint option available for the 2021 Silverado HD. Additionally, Cherry Red Tintcoat is one of two red exterior paint hues offered, with the second being the Red Hot option.
Cherry Red replaces Cajun Red Tintcoat which was deleted for the 2021 model year. The Cherry Red Tintcoat has a similar appearance as the Cajun Red Tintcoat paint option. Since only two exterior paint options were deleted for the 2021 Silverado HD, the addition of the two new hues keeps the total number of exterior paint options at nine for the heavy duty pick-up truck.
The new Cherry Red Tintcoat color is not included in the base price of the 2021 Silverado HD. Instead, it costs an additional $495. It’s available in conjunction with all interior color combinations, except one – Jet Black with Carhartt Brown (exclusive to the Carhartt Edition Silverado HD). The new hue is also not available on Work Truck or Custom models of the Silverado 2500HD.

As of this writing, Chevrolet dealers might have the 2021 Silverado HD in stock, including models in the Cherry Red color. However, the ongoing microchip shortage has severely disrupted the supply of the Silverado family, along with most other vehicles from other manufacturers.
