Some 2021 GM Crossovers Delivered Without A Garage Door Opener

General Motors has started a customer satisfaction program after certain GM crossovers were delivered without an optional accessory mirror with a built-in garage door opener.
The problem: affected GM crossovers were sold and delivered to customers without a rearview mirror with built-in garage door switches, even though this equipment was included on the vehicle invoice and paid for by customers. It is not clear why certain vehicles were sold and delivered without this LPO-level accessory.
The hazards: this problem does not pose a safety risk or hazard to owners of affected GM crossovers, however these customers will obviously want to ensure they receive all the equipment on their vehicle that they paid for.
The fix: customers can either schedule an appointment with their dealership to have a rearview mirror with a garage door opener installed in their vehicle free of charge, or they can choose to be refunded the amount of the accessory content that was not installed.

Number of affected vehicles: GM has not yet announced how many crossovers are affected by this particular issue.
Owners should: owners of affected GM crossovers will be notified and instructed to make an appointment with the dealer they purchased the vehicle from. Owners of affected vehicles can also reach out to Buick, Chevrolet or GMC directly using the contact information included below.

How the hell in the 21st century do you just build a vehicle without the right equipment.
Why did it make it past the dealer pre-delivery inspection as well?
Inexcusable. So what was put in place instead of mirror/garage door opener? Poor customer trying to program door opener and going crazy.
Probably a regular mirror without any buttons?
The manufacturer of the mirrors may actually be where the issue occur. They probably make numerous iterations of mirrors for GM. Possible that they mislabeled a bunch of basic mirrors with the wrong part number. Then the employees on the line installed the correct part number and didn’t know the mirror was not the correct mirror. Purely speculation on my part but seems quite likely considering the range of vehicles impacted.
They all have the blue on-star button to rescue you when you die on the road.
Are these faulty mirrors the ones without the rear camera mirror function? I would expect that this function is embedded within the mirror and in the rear camera mirror in particular.
I think all models where rear camera mirror is an option use a separate garage door module in the overhead console. It’s certainly separate on the Traverse and the Silverado.
One stsndsrd door opener built in by the msnufacturer?
Does the mean that you can open each and every garage door in the USS from coast to coast, and vice versa anybody can open your garage door?
Or what am I missing here?
It needs to be paired to your opener(s),just like standard garage door remotes.
Traded my 19 Acadia Denali for a 21 Denali and discovered my HD surround camera is not offered. What? I’m not happy but should’ve known gm deletes content year to year. No wonder marked share shrinks!!
I don’t know who told you that it’s not offered, it is available. It’s on the front page of the website. I understand there’s supply constraints on the entire HD surround camera system on all models due to the whole chip shortage.
HD surround on a Denali should not be an option. Top of the line model as on my 2019. It may be on the option list but it is not included in my vehicle technology pig. Chip issue!!.
My 2021 Equinox was sold with 3 additional missing options. Heated mirrors and memory seats. Like WTF.

These are kn my build sheet. Every Nox kn the lot with the same trim had the same error too.
Code on build ticket could be wrong. Mirrors could have been packaged and labeled wrong, which could explain why it happened at different plants. I notified management of wrong nuts being used and was told they were okay and to use them. A week later we worked a whole weekend to replace those nuts.

I just purchased a 2021 Buick Envision and it did not have a rear vies mirror with garage door opener. I was on hold with the Buick number for 25 minutes before hanging up. I then went to chat and she was no help either, told me to contact dealer about seeing this on web site. LOL
Bought a Buick Envision Essence. no garage door buttons on rear view mirrir or anywhere else.
Buick TourX owner here – LPO sheet indicated that we were to receive under floor storage and cargo fence for our wagons. Our cars came with neither. I am sure that since there are probably less than 15,000 TourX in all of the US of A after 3 years of importing that GM really doesn’t care about us. But woe to GM to feel the wrath of 300,000 annual Equinox owners.
