Just two of 22-inch wheel options offered for the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 are currently available.
Specifically, the 22-inch Dark Silverado aluminum wheel with Chrome insert (RPO code SEW) and the 22-inch High Gloss Black wheel (RPO code SGM) are still available as LPO-level (delivered to and installed by the dealer) options.
The rest of the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500’s 22-inch wheel options are no longer available to order. These include (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- 22-inch six-spoke Low Gloss Black wheel with machined accents (SEV)
- 22-inch Carbon Flash metallic wheels (SEZ)
- 22-inch Bright Chrome wheel (SF0)
- 22-inch Bright Chrome wheel (SF1)
It’s believed the unavailable 22-inch wheel options will continue to be unavailable for the remainder of the 2021 model year.
Earlier this month, GM Authority identified three 22-inch wheel options for the 2021 Chevy Silverado that were made available, including the 22-inch Dark Silverado aluminum wheel with Chrome insert (SEW), the 22-inch High Gloss Black wheel (SGM), and the 22-inch six-spoke Low Gloss Black wheel with machined accents (SEV). Now, the 22-inch six-spoke Low Gloss Black wheel with machined accents (SEV) option is no longer available.
Back in January, GM Authority provided exclusive coverage of the GM 22-inch wheel shortage, wherein all dealer-installed GM 22-inch wheels were previously unavailable due to constraints in the supply chain. The shortage affected not only the Chevy Silverado 1500, but also the GMC Sierra 1500, the Chevy Tahoe, the Chevy Suburban, the GMC Yukon, and the Cadillac Escalade.
In a follow-up posted in March, GM Authority released exclusive information on the 22-inch wheel shortage, reporting that, per sources familiar with the matter, the affected wheels had in fact already shipped to the U.S. from their respective production facilities in China, and were stacked in containers in the Port of Los Angeles waiting to clear customs.
