The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 brings various minor changes and updates, such as changes in the model line, the addition of Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new wheel availability, and several new packages. The model also sees the addition of three new exterior color to its color palette: Mosaic Black Metallic, Oxford Brown Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat. Here’s our first look at the new Cherry Red hue.
Assigned color code GSK and touch-up paint code WA-252F, Cherry Red Tintcoat is the only tintcoat paint option available for the 2021 Silverado 1500. Cherry Red Tintcoat is one of two red exterior paint hues offered, with the other being Red Hot.
Cherry Red replaces Cajun Red Tintcoat which was deleted for the 2021 model year. The Cherry Red Tintcoat is very similar to the Cajun Red Tintcoat paint option, though it appears to be a bit brighter.
It is worth noting two of the three new colors for the 2021 Silverado are metallic paint options, bringing the total number of metallic paint colors to six for the 2021 model year. Given that only two exterior paint options were deleted for the 2021 Silverado 1500, the addition of the three new hues brings the total number of exterior paint options to 11 for Chevy’s full-size, light-duty pick-up truck.
The new Cherry Red Tintcoat color is not included in the base price of the 2021 Silverado 1500, carrying an additional cost of $495. It’s available in conjunction with all three interior colorways. However, the new hue is not available on 1WT models. Additionally, it was at first available on 2FL models, but has since been removed from availability with that trim level.

As of this writing, Chevrolet dealers might have the 2021 Silverado 1500 in stock, including models in Cherry Red. However, the ongoing microchip shortage has severely disrupted the supply of Silverado as well as most vehicles from other manufacturers, so we recommend checking with a dealer for complete availability details.
Now standard on the majority of trim levels. Some engines get DFM, or nothing at all.
