GM Launches Updated 2021 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury In China

Just three months after launching the 2021 Cadillac XT6 range in China, which receives an electrified powertrain for the first time, General Motors just updated the crossover’s Premium Luxury trim level in the Asian country. The automaker added several state-of-the-art features to the second most luxurious Cadillac XT6 variant in the Chinese market, while retaining the same price as the 2020 edition.

The new built-in-China 2021 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury arrives with several technological improvements, including the latest Cadillac User Experience infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay integration, a new high-definition camera for the Rear Camera Mirror system and a Bose Performance Hi-Fi audio system fitted as standard.

Paired with the newly introduced 48V mild hybrid powertrain, these new features keep the 2021 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury up to date in the world’s largest automotive market. In fact, since its local launch in the second half of 2019, the XT6 has grown in popularity, positioning itself among the top three sales spots in its segment in China.

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 lineup in China rounds up six variants across the Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury and Platinum trim levels. As in North America, each features its own character through unique exterior design and cabin presentation highlights, with each configuration adapting to the tastes of various customer profiles.

Mechanically, the entire XT6 range in the Chinese market comes standard with a powertrain integrating a new mild hybrid system, consisting of an electric motor and a 48V electrical system. Combined with GM’s turbocharged 2.0L LSY four-cylinder engine and the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, the XT6 mild hybrid develops 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The updated 2021 Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury is now available at the brand’s entire dealer network in China, with the same starting price of CNY 469,700, or roughly $72,999 USD at the current exchange rate.

    1. I agree, but it needs more than 250 HP. Maybe a 6 cyl hybrid would be better for the US.

    1. Mary said that it would after they first came out during a press conference in 2019 at Spring Hill. But rest assured you can get it in the Bolt.

  5. I distinctly recall GM bosses saying they weren’t interested in hybrid vehicles anymore, which is why they axed the Volt, and the Malibu hybrid here. They were only interested in either gas engine, or full on BEV … but apparently they’re interested in other things in the china market.

  6. Bravo Queen MaryB you “woke” “globalist” CEO. Give the CCP ALL of your latest vehicle tech. Someday, as you reflect on your life from one of your many castles somewhere in the world, possibly Shanghai or Being, you’ll get it. What a collosal mistake you made for the American people.
