Just last week, we took a look at the new Cadillac Lyriq’s curb weight and how it compares to the rest of the Cadillac lineup, finding that the new luxury crossover is in fact very heavy. Now, we’re taking another look at the brand’s crossover lineup, this time with a focus on the exterior dimensions, interior dimensions, and cargo room in the following GM Authority Dimensional Comparison.
Exterior Dimensions
Let’s start with the exterior dimensions, where we find the Cadillac Lyriq has the longest wheelbase of all the crossovers in this comparison, measuring in at 121.8 inches. However, the Lyriq’s overall length is slightly shorter than that of the Cadillac XT6 at 196.7 inches and 198.5 inches, respectively.
Interestingly, the Cadillac XT4 is wide for its overall size at 76.7 inches with the mirrors folded, while the Cadillac Lyriq’s sultry roofline makes it the lowest at 63.9 inches (when including the roof rails for the XT4).

Interior Dimensions
Let’s next move into the cabin, where we find that Cadillac Lyriq’s stylish low roofline also affects headroom front (38.6 inches) to back (37.7 inches). Although the figures aren’t that far off those for the other three crossovers, the Lyriq still offers the least amount of headroom in this comparison.
That said, legroom is more than ample, with 41.1 inches in front and 39.6 inches for the rear. The rest of the specs also show loads of passenger room for the Cadillac Lyriq.

Cargo Room
Finally, we have cargo room, with the Lyriq slotting above the Cadillac XT4 but below the XT5 when looking at available space behind the first and second row. Unsurprisingly, the Cadillac XT6 is the most capacious of the four when it comes to this critical metric.

The XT4’s exterior width must be an error. I’ve checked online and multiple car websites have stated that it’s only 76.7 inches wide. This would make far more sense than an earth-stretching 83.5 inches. That would be 2 and a half inches wider than a 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Perhaps some websites are measuring with the mirrors and others without?
On the with and without:
Correct. The XT4 spec. includes side mirrors extended.
Too bad it’s just a hatchback instead of a SUV.
Nothing wrong with hatchbacks. Prefer them over SUVs. And it seems what a lot of automakers are calling crossovers or SUVs, are really slightly higher riding hatchbacks these day’s anyway.
Exactly right, Lyriq is a lifted fastback station wagon, but it sure looks cool, and works for a lot of families. This style is like E-Tron, I-Pace, Model S and X.
The difference between the 2 is truly in the mind no difference in reality. back swings open. The end.
Add seat heights to the interior dimensions for seniors and short drivers such as my wife who drives a 2009 Chevy Equinox and needs a seat booster to see out better.
I also ask for the passenger volume, floor clearance from road, and maximum cargo weight. I have my own comparison table with the three XT vehicles, and my 2009 Chevy Equinox, so I need these values to add the complete Cadillac Lyriq numbers.
There is an EV Equinox sized vehicle in the works that might be a better comparison for you. This is what will be built in Mexico.
The vehicle’s weight is in the Escalade range.
Typical EV… Heavy, but the Escalade will not perform like Lyriq for driving pleasure and quickness, and the Escalade is far from cost effective to own unless you need the huge size and truck like capability, but for those few, there will be an EV Escalade getting unveiled later this year give people a choice, and no compromise options.
I hope that will also mean a EV Yukon Denali!
And off-topic, i hope to replace my current Navigator with a EV version as well.
Or should i switch back to an Escalade again.
I like the interior over the Navigator but can’t get used to the front exterior of the new Escalade.
There will be an EV Yukon after the Escalade, and Tahoe EV models. I would guess 2024 model, GMC dealers will get the Hummer SUV first in 2023
It’s growing, on me. I like the dimensions and especially the long wheelbase. Wonder if there’s any under floor storage like the XT5? Probably not with all the battery. Not sure if rwd will cut it here in Chicagoland winters. All that tonnage might help.
All wheel drive is going to be an option.
They don’t say if it has a differential to have its slip limited. The immediate torque of electric drive may need to have a special suppressed mode for snow.
Wonder if they will add a 3rd row option to the Lyriq. Seems like it’s long enough for it.
Only if they want to add rear facing seats. There is no way you’d get in them otherwise.
The Tesla Model Y offers front facing Third row seats and it is a much smaller vehicle. The Lyriq can absolutely offer front facing third row if they so chose too. I think Cadillac will offer three sized EV CUV’s like the XT4, XT5, and XT6
Nope, no chance of 3rd row in Lyriq, GM is not like Tesla where they will just shoehorn a 3rd row in just to say me too on 7 seats. There is a Chevy EV coming that has 3 rows.
This is replacing the XT5. I’m sure an XT6-sized electric model (with three rows) is on it’s way as well.
Yes, there will be a 3 row Cadillac EV crossover but timing is not clear. After Lyriq, EV Escalade is next in line for Cadillac, and it’s awesome. I think GM is going to show the EV Escalade this year, most of the media and major investors have seen it, but no pictures were allowed.
I continue to look for information on the new EV Qptiq, nothing seems to be available at this time. When and if will this Qptiq xt4 all ev be available in USA?
