  1. I’ve said this a million times. GM’s strategy is to price their vehicles with ridiculously high MSRPs, then offer a fire-sale “XX% off MSRP”! All they are doing is bringing prices to competitive levels with that game. Are consumers really fooled by this??

    1. these kind of games cheapens the brand. but i guess gm knows their customers.

a few years, jc penney brought in a new ceo from apple. he moved to eliminate the weekly big sales with a more consistent price policy that wasn’t driven by discounts. it was an absolute disaster and a few years later, they went bankrupt.

  2. Another article covering yet another giant sized rebate by GM. But no attempt at pulling these seemingly endless series of articles on the massive rebates together with real analysis. Is this a flawed pricing strategy, a deliberate but ill conceived one in which only the first mover ever believes sticker or is it a response to products failing to meet consumer expectations. The reporting on this site is very lazy and seems designed to keep GM PR happy-which by the way does no one any real favors.

  3. No surprise, over priced to begin with.
