2022 GMC Terrain Features SiriusXM Satellite Radio As Standard

The 2022 GMC Terrain ushers in a model refresh that includes a variety of changes and updates, such as new styling, new exterior colors, the addition of the AT4 trim level, and new interior materials and features. Notably, the new Terrain now offers SiriusXM satellite radio as standard across the line.

The 2021 GMC Terrain is offered with SiriusXM satellite radio (tagged with RPO code U2K) as an optional extra for the SLE trim level via Infotainment Package I (RPO code Y29). SiriusXM satellite radio is also standard on the SLT trim, and not offered on the base-level SL trim.

Now, with the introduction of the 2022 GMC Terrain, SiriusXM satellite radio is standard across all trim levels, including SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The feature includes a free three-month all-access trial.

As GM Authority covered previously, the GMC Terrain was originally set to receive a model refresh for the 2021 model, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the refresh was pushed back to the 2022 model year. General Motors pulled the sheets on the 2022 GMC Terrain with a debut in March.

To note, the latest 2022 GMC Terrain deletes the base-level SL trim from the previous model year, making the SLE trim the new base-level trim in the 2022 model-year lineup.

While the 2022 GMC Terrain was originally set to offer a new turbocharged 2.0L engine option, namely the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY, those plans changed, leaving the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX as the only engine option available. The turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX is rated at 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, mating to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

Further updates for the 2022 model year include standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trim levels, plus revised front and rear styling and the addition of a new Head Up Display feature.

The 2022 GMC Terrain is set to open up availability this summer.
