The upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is poised to introduce a model refresh for the light duty pickup truck with a host of changes and updates. Now, GM Authority has uncovered the 2022 Chevy Silverado production timeframe, including the start of regular production (SORP) for each body configuration.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 will hit production September 20th, 2021, with Regular Cab and Crew Cab models the first to roll off the line. The 2022 Chevy Silverado Double Cab will follow on September 27th.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado HD will precede the refreshed 2022 Silverado 1500, hitting production on July 12th. Note that the 2022 Silverado HD will be a rolling model year update with only a few small changes and updates compared to the refreshed Light Duty pickup. The Silverado HD is expected to receive a full refresh for the 2023 model year.

Also note that these dates are subject to change, especially with the ongoing microchip shortage still affecting auto production around the world.
The refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is slated to introduce a vast array of changes for the Light Duty pickup, including a new front and rear fascia, new wheel designs, and new exterior colors, as well as an all-new cockpit with an overhauled dash, center stack, and center console. The refreshed Silverado 1500 will also feature a new gauge cluster with the option for a fully digital display, the removal of the column shifter, and the introduction of new tech features, most notably GM’s Super Cruise driving system as an optional extra for the High Country trim level, which will enable the Silverado to tow semi-autonomously. The refresh will also introduce the new ZR2 trim level.
