The upcoming 2022 Chevy Blazer crossover is set for a trim level reorganization, deleting the base-level L trim and second-tier 1LT trim from the lineup.
Both the Blazer L and Blazer 1LT trim level were available exclusively with front-wheel drive for the 2021 model year. The rest of the trim level cadence is available with all-wheel drive.
What’s more, the L and 1LT trims did not have active safety features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and essentially everything found in the Chevy Safety Assist package. Both models also did not offer the V92 trailering package.
In terms of interior features, the base-level L did not include an auto dimming rearview mirror, SiriusXM radio, heated front seats, a remote engine starter, eight-way power driver’s seat, roof rails, power lift gate, or any LPO-level accessories. By comparison, the 1LT offered heated front seats, a remote engine starter, roof rails, and power lift gate as available options, while the eight-way power driver’s seat was standard.
Outside, the L trim was only available in Silver Ice Metallic (paint code GAN), Summit White (paint code GAZ), and Black (paint code GBA).
As for the engine spec, the Blazer L and 1LT were available exclusively with the 2.5L I4 LCV gasoline engine. The deletion of the L and 1LT trim levels from the 2022 Chevy Blazer lineup confirms an earlier GM Authority report that General Motors is considering dropping the LCV from the Blazer lineup.

As a reminder, the LCV is the least-powerful engine offered by the current 2021 Blazer, producing 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. The rest of the powerplant lineup includes the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY, which produces 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX, which produces 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
