The Chevy Blazer crossover will receive refreshed exterior details in the range-topping Premier trim level for the 2022 model year, GM Authority has learned from sources close to the matter.
No images of the new styling are currently available, but what we do know is that the changes will include new front and rear lower fascias, new wheels, wheel moldings and rockers compared with the current 2021 Chevy Blazer.
There will be no mechanical changes as the Chevy Blazer enters the fourth model year of its current generation. The Blazer Premier will therefore continue being fitted as standard with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine which joined the range for the 2021 model year. The boosted four is rated at 227 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Chevrolet also offers the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX, which makes 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque as an option.
The same engine choice is available with most other trim levels. However, only the 3.6L V6 is offered for the Chevy Blazer RS.

At present, the Blazer is also available with the atmospheric 2.5L I4 LCV engine, which produces 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. This motor is available only with the base L and second-tier 1LT trim levels, but as GM Authority exclusively reported earlier this week, these will be discontinued for the 2022 Blazer.

Sales of the Chevy Blazer in the U.S. in Q1 of 2021 are down 13 percent compared to the same period last year at 19,265 units. It is currently Chevy’s eighth most popular vehicle in the United States, having dropped behind the Chevy Colorado and the recently-introduced Chevy Trailblazer.
The Blazer rides on the regular-wheelbase version of GM’s C1 platform, which it shares with the Cadillac XT5, Cadillac XT6, GMC Acadia and Chinese-market Buick Enclave and Chinese-market Chevy Blazer. The model sold in North America is assembled at the GM Ramos Arizpe factory in Mexico.
