2022 Cadillac XT5 Gets Available Brembo Brake Package

Customers looking to add a little more stopping power to their 2022 Cadillac XT5 crossover can do so with the XT5’s available Brembo brake package.

The 2022 Cadillac XT5’s available Brembo brake package is tagged with RPO code J56, and includes Brembo performance front brakes, as well as red painted brake calipers both up front and in the rear.

The package will be offered as standard on the 2022 Cadillac XT5 Sport trim level, and will be unavailable on the rest of the line (Luxury and Premium Luxury).

The same Brembo brake package will be offered with the 2022 Cadillac XT6 mid-size crossover, as GM Authority covered previously. The package includes the same content when equipped on either the 2022 Cadillac XT5 or 2022 XT6.

To note, the Cadillac XT5 Sport trim level is set apart from the rest of the lineup by the inclusion of 20-inch 12-Spoke alloy wheels with a Pearl Nickel finish, Gloss Black exterior accents (grille, roof rails, and side window surrounds), Sport Control All-Wheel Drive System, upgraded chassis damping control, and Performance Suspension system. The standard engine in the XT5 Sport is the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX, which produces 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.

The other two trims are offered with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY, which is standard on the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims, with the Premium Luxury also offered with the 3.6L V6 LGX. Output from the 2.0L I4 LSY is rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Both engine options mate to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Additionally, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 will also lose two exterior paint colors, with Shadow Metallic and Garnet Metallic both deleted from the list with the introduction of the 2022 model year.

The 2022 Cadillac XT5 will be the last model year of the current first generation, with a second generation expected for the 2023 model year.

  1. With the XT5 heading into 2023 for a total redesign, are there any images yet of what it will look like?

  2. OT: One can build the blackwings on Cadillac’s site. Just built a CT4-V and oh boy does the price rise so quickly! I might as well be in serious consideration for a BMW M3 competition too. Just built that too and for what I wanted the BMW was cheaper! The CT4 started off way cheaper but the seats is what gets the Caddy expensive real quick. The competition appears to have better stock seats too. They also did a BMW in which the few base colors are lame and one has to pay a lot to get something desirable.

    1. This can be said about many of GM’s products. You get the entry level for a song and dance, but when you need to add some essential options, you need to head straight to your financial institute and sign your life away!

      1. Germans have been pricing cars for years this way. Nothing new. My mother in law always leases a Mercedes with the only option pkg1.

  4. For the cost difference between the XT5 and its Chevy twin these brakes and the 3.0 TT should be standard………
