The 2021 GMC Canyon offers a total of seven exterior colors, four which are new: Hunter Metallic, Dynamic Blue Metallic, Desert Sand Metallic, and Cayenne Red Tintcoat. Here’s our first look at the new Cayenne Red hue.
Availability
Assigned color code GSK and touch-up paint code WA-252F, Cayenne Red is one of two bold hues available for the 2021 GMC Canyon, with the second being Dynamic Blue Metallic.
Altogether, there are seven exterior color options available for the 2021 Canyon:
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Summit White
- Onyx Black
- Hunter Metallic
- Dynamic Blue Metallic
- Cayenne Red Tintcoat
- Desert Sand Metallic
The Cayenne Red color option costs an additional $645, and is available only on the 2021 Canyon Elevation, AT4, or Denali trim levels. It is available in conjunction with three out of four interior color combinations.
2021 GMC Canyon Levels:
- Elevation Standard (2VL, 4VL)
- Elevation (2LE,4LE)
- AT4 (4SB)
- Denali (2SD, 4SD)
2021 GMC Canyon Interior Color Combinations:
- Jet Black with Dark Ash
- Jet Black
- Jet Black with Kalahari
- Cocoa with Dark Atmosphere
For the sake of comparison, we’re showing the Canyon in the Cayenne Red Tintcoat exterior finish in the AT4 trim level with the optional 17-inch AT4 wheel, which is finished in gloss Black, alongside the Denali trim level with its standard chrome wheel. We’re particular fans of the blackened AT4 components, included the black grille, side mirror caps, door handles, and the same can be said for the new Canyon Elevation Standard and Canyon Elevation models, which feature a black grille and black wheels as standard equipment. That said, the bold red hue is still pleasant to look at when paired with the chrome accents of the Denali trim level.
Launch Timeframe
The 2021 GMC Canyon started production on June 26th, 2020 at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri. As of this writing, models coated in Cayenne Red Tintcoat should be readily available at dealer lots across the continental United States. Of course, availability varies by dealer, so check with yours for complete details.
