2021 Cadillac XT6 Gets New Dark Moon Blue Color: First Look

The 2021 Cadillac XT6 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Infrared Tintcoat, Wilder Metallic, and Dark Moon Blue Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new blue hue.

Availability

Assigned color code GLU and touch-up paint code WA-328E, Dark Moon Blue Metallic is the only blue-based color option available for the three-row Cadillac crossover. As the name implies, Dark Moon Blue Metallic is a dark navy blue color. Interestingly, there were no blue exterior color options available for the 2020 model year, which was the first year of production for the XT6.

In total, there are eight available colors for the 2021 Cadillac XT6, including:

  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Satin Steel Metallic
  • Stellar Black Metallic
  • Wilder Metallic
  • Shadow Metallic
  • Garnet Metallic
  • Infrared Tintcoat
  • Dark Moon Blue Metallic

Notably, Satin Steel Metallic is the only exterior color option that’s included in the base price of the luxury crossover, with all other colors carrying an additional cost.

Dark Moon Blue Metallic carries an additional cost of $625. It is also available in conjunction with all trim levels and interior color combinations.

2021 Cadillac XT6 Trim Levels:

  • Luxury (1SA, 1SB)
  • Premium Luxury (1SC, 1SD)
  • Sport (1SF)

2021 Cadillac XT6 Interior Color Combinations:

  • Jet Black
  • Cirrus with Dark Titanium
  • Cirrus with Jet Black
  • Dark Auburn with Jet Black
  • Maple Sugar with Jet Black

Launch Timeframe

As of this writing, dealer inventory of 2021 Cadillac XT6 models is sparse due to the ongoing microchip shortage, which appears to be impacting the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee that assembles the XT6. We recommend checking with your dealer about availability of models coated in the Dark Moon Blue Metallic paint.

Cadillac XT6 Luxury arrives as the new base model for the 2021 model year

Prospective buyers may be interested to know that the 2021 model year sees the addition of the turbocharged 2.0-liter LSY four-cylinder engine exclusively for the Luxury trim level, which is also new for 2021. The new Luxury model becomes the new base trim level for the XT6, enabling the luxury CUV to achieve a lower starting price point while also following Cadillac’s Y-trim level strategy. Other changes include the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
