The 2021 Cadillac XT5 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Dark Moon Blue Metallic, Infrared Tintcoat, and Wilder Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Wilder hue.
Availability
Assigned color code GED and touch-up paint code WA-244F, Wilder Metallic is one of three gray-based color options, along with Satin Steel Metallic and Shadow Metallic. In total, there are eight available colors for the 2021 Cadillac XT5, which also includes:
- Crystal White Tricoat
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Stellar Black Metallic
- Shadow Metallic
- Garnet Metallic
- Dark Moon Blue Metallic
- Infrared Tintcoat
Wilder Metallic is a fair bit darker than Satin Steel, and appears to be much more dynamic. In some lighting conditions, the color appears to be almost black, though its gray base and dazzling metallic quality are very apparent in direct sunlight.
Notably, Satin Steel Metallic is the only exterior color option included in the base price of the luxury crossover. The new Wilder Metallic color carries an additional cost of $625. It is also available in conjunction with all trim levels and interior color combinations.
2021 Cadillac XT5 Trim Levels:
- Luxury (1SA, 1SB)
- Premium Luxury (1SC, 1SD)
- Sport (1SF)
2021 Cadillac XT5 Interior Color Combinations:
- Jet Black
- Cirrus with Dark Titanium
- Cirrus with Jet Black
- Kona Brown Sauvage with Jet Black
- Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black
- Maple Sugar with Jet Black

I thought “Wilder” was the GMAuthority’s description of this color. Meanwhile I’m thinking, “Huh, this gray doesn’t seem so much wilder than any other. More metal flakes?” 🙂
That doesn’t look too wild to me. It looks like the old Nightfall Gray.
I thought Wilder Metallic was more of a Green then Grey combination ?
Have yet to see it in person, however, if it does appear to be more of a grey tone, I will look into another colour when I purchase my XT5 in 2022.
Are there any new colours scheduled for 2022?
if is not white or black ,it’s dull shades of gray
I researched the Wilder Metallic to see if was offered on any other GM vehicles and found it’s called Hunter Metallic on GMC Denali models. Same colour, but different name.
I’m a Wilder, have an SRX 2015, and haven’t been contacted by GM for permission to use my name.
