The 2021 Cadillac XT5 adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Infrared Tintcoat, Wilder Metallic, and Dark Moon Blue Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new blue hue.
Availability
Assigned color code GLU and touch-up paint code WA-328E, Dark Moon Blue Metallic is the only blue-based color option available for the luxury crossover. As the name implies, Dark Moon Blue Metallic is a dark navy blue, and is a fair bit darker than the Harbor Blue Metallic color that was previously available for the XT5 before it was discontinued after the 2019 model year.
In total, there are eight available colors for the 2021 Cadillac XT5, including:
- Dark Moon Blue Metallic
- Crystal White Tricoat
- Satin Steel Metallic
- Stellar Black Metallic
- Shadow Metallic
- Garnet Metallic
- Wilder Metallic
- Infrared Tintcoat
Notably, Satin Steel Metallic is the only exterior color option included in the base price of the luxury crossover, with all other colors carrying an additional cost.
The new Dark Moon Blue Metallic color is not included in the base price of the 2021 Cadillac XT5, and carries an additional cost of $625. It is also available in conjunction with all trim levels and interior color combinations.

Launch Timeframe
As of this writing, dealer inventory of 2021 Cadillac XT5 models is sparse due to the ongoing microchip shortage, which appears to be impacting the GM Spring Hill factory in Tennessee that assembles the XT5. We recommend checking with your dealer about models coated in the Dark Moon Blue Metallic paint.

Lots here in Canada are nearing bare bones status! In fact, the only colours I can find for the XT5 on the lots are Crystal White, Infrared and Black with the first 2 colours being at a premium charge. All models have Jet Black interiors only so if you want anything else you are SOL.
