Like many new vehicles, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade features numerous dome lights embedded into the headliner, giving occupants quick and easy access to lights for reading or locating items they may have dropped or misplaced, for example.
Operating these dome lights is common sense: just press the reading light or dome light itself and the light will come on. What some Cadillac Escalade owners may not know how to do, however, is turn on all of the vehicle’s reading and dome lights at once.
Accomplishing that in the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is easy. Just press and hold either of the overhead console reading lights in the front passenger compartment and all of the lights in the vehicle will turn on. This could be helpful for letting passengers out of the vehicle at night, giving the driver a quick and easy way to illuminate the vehicle’s cabin and light up a path for occupants to exit through.
General Motors recently put together a video showing a Cadillac Live brand representative demonstrating how to do this. If our written explanation here wasn’t clear enough, we might suggest readers check out the video embedded below for a more clear and concise demonstration of how to turn on all of the Escalade’s reading and dome lights at once.
This video is part of a series of helpful how-to instructional videos that GM has released for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Other videos in this series show how to operate the vehicle’s power liftgate, how to use its OLED infotainment system and how to use the semi-autonomous hands-free Super Cruise driving system. While some of these how-to videos may contain seemingly obvious information, they are a great way to show owners how to use the vehicle’s various features and are much more digestible than reading an owner’s manual.
